Dr Dhara Lette Karunaratne

I am a 39yo first time mother and absolutely adore Dhara - I had the most wonderful experience under her care during my pregnancy. Dhara has a wonderful bedside manner and met all my concerns with pragmatism and gentleness. She scanned my baby at every appointment and was super stoked to see to see her every time, I walked away from every session feeling secure and excited. Dhara identified that my baby was measuring a little on the lighter side and took appropriate and fast steps to make sure my baby and I were safe. I now have a beautiful and healthy baby girl and am so grateful to Dhara for her guidance and expertise. I would recommend Dhara to anyone wishing to find an experienced OBGYN with endless energy and an excellent sense of humour.

I absolutely love Dhara. She delivered my two babies and I had an amazing experience with her both times. I recommend her to all my family and friends (she has delivered four of my nieces and nephews!). Dhara has extra training in ultrasound and scanned me every appointment - and was excited as I was to see the baby! When issues arose in my pregnancies she was knowledgeable and caring - and checked in frequently to see how I was. She made such an effort to make the deliveries a calm and fun experience (even when one was early on a Saturday morning) and my husband felt very included. Her office manager Eva is switched on, great with communication and making appointments was easy. With Dhara you and your baby are in very safe hands.

Dhara was my OB for my first child recently born two months ago! I could not recommend her more. She was extremely thorough and made me feel comfortable throughout my pregnancy and birth and helped me throughout my concerns and fears along the way step by step along with my aftercare. The birth went amazing thanks so Dhara.

Her office manager Eva was also available to us whenever we needed her throughout my pregnancy and was incredibly informative to us. Both Eva and Dhara are so friendly and I would recommend them both to all my family and friends without a doubt. Thank you both so much.

Dr Karunaratne was my obstetrician for my second baby and I really appreciated the level of care after having my first without any continuity of care. She is very informative and professional as well as friendly and warm. I often had my 3 year old with me for appointments and she loved visiting, often asking when we were visiting Dr Dhara. Can't thank Dr Karunaratne and her team (thank you to Eva as well) enough for making my second pregnancy so much more enjoyable.

Our experience with Dhara was exceptional and I couldn’t recommend her high enough. She is a modern day, practical & honest OB who listens and provides supportive advice at every stage of pregnancy and birth. She really listened to what was important to me and reassured me when I had doubts or concerns and I had a lot.

We had nothing but praise for Dhara’s team and liked the personalised approach of Midwife Vicki’s tailored birthing class, which meant we were able to forgo expensive and time consuming classes that weren’t particularly relevant for us.

Overall we had a fabulous experience from start to finish and felt so happy to have such an awesome team around us for the birth of our first daughter.

Like many other people who have left reviews, we found a doctor and a friend in Dhara and will be going back to her should we chose to have a second.

Dhara has delivered my two boys (even though I lived 30 minutes away during the second pregnancy). She was always lovely to deal with and was very responsive when I had a few concerns during my second pregnancy. Dhara is also quite relaxed which is helpful in keeping you relaxed and reassuring.
I would 100% recommend Dhara and will use her again if we decide on a third.

Dhara is one of the nicest human beings around. She was the best support to my wife when we first had our baby a few years ago. When we fell pregnant with our second all we could think about was how excited we were to return to see Dhara and to go on our special journey together. Very professional and a beautiful soul.

Dr Lette (Karunaratne) is an excellent and thorough practitioner; is it also wonderful that she is such a fabulous person. Excellent attention to detail. Since I met Dhara in 2016, I found a friend rather than a doctor. So well behaved and polite she is !

She is really good, my son was born in 34 weeks and I had preeclampsia as well as IUGR. She did her job really good

I was looking to get an appointment with Dr Dhara. I am pregnant and Dr Dhara's Assistant, Eva booked me an appointment with Dhara for 4th March 2021 04:30pm via phone on 15th Feb 2021. I called her back in a few days(18th Feb 2021) seeking an email confirmation for my appointment, as I was wondering if my appointment was confirmed or not.

She said she would email me at the end of the day(18th Feb 2021), but she did not. I got an email on 26th Feb 2021 04:53 pm where the appointment time was mentioned as 04th March 2021 05:00 pm(different from what she mentioned on phone). I sent her a reply immediately to confirm the exact timing, but she didn't care to reply.
Eva had also mentioned on 18th Feb 2021 that she would send me a break up of the out of pocket expense via email along with the appointment confirmation, which was not sent to me in the email that she sent me on 04th March 2021.

I called her up again on 1st March 2021 (today) and told her about the confusion of the timing of the appointment and if she could send me a break up of the expense, she said "I thought we had already discussed that on phone". I said "No, we did not". She said she would call me back in 10 minutes as she is away from her computer, and then confirm the timing with me, but she has not called me yet.

I don't know how else to reach you guys, so I am using the google review to ask you some questions (I hope I get some attention now):
1. Why is my appointment time still not clear to me when I spoke with you so long ago?
2. Why do you not want to send me a written email about my out of pocket expenses? Your website doesn't mention it either so that doesn't help too.(I care about the value for the money I spend and I am proud of that).
3. Why does your assistant, Eva say something else and do something else?

Eva told me she had a broken leg when I called her on 15th Feb 2021, and so I have been empathising with her and was waiting patiently, but my appointment date is near and I still don't know the appointment time and the out of pocket expenses as promised by her.

I feel sorry for Eva but I can't feel sorry for her at my baby's expense. Why don't you hire more people or get her replacement for a while as any professional service would do? Why is she doing everything with a broken leg?

I’ve since had two more children but my experience with Dr Lette still haunts me. Money driven.

Didn’t show up for the birth of my child/answer calls whilst I was in labor or visit in the hospital. Unprofessional. Money driven.
