Acton Beach

Lovely lake with sunset, here are many black swans can be your friends. When you feels lonely just come and say hello.

Cute little beach on the foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin. Went for a lovely swim down to acton peninsula and back. Water temperature was great. Nice one!

Good location to enjoy sunset view

We visited this place that has a small beach and lots of walking and cycling paths. From this lake view, some main attractions in Canberra can be seen, including National Library, New Parliament House and National Museum. A nice place for a walk or to have a seat and take in the lake view.

Kinda empty, but nice

Good spot for open water swim practice with buoys in a triangle marking out an approx 1000m course. Caution entering and exiting the water as there are large rocks just off the beach. Water visibility is generally poor, so you cant see the rocks. Once you're in, no worries. Also, there's a solar powered thing in the middle of the triangle. It emits a high pitched pulse. It's pretty irritating, worse the closer you are to it. Best stay clear. Was told it is meant to prevent carp breeding 🤔. Overall, a good safe spot for a 1km, or more, swim.
