We dined at 1:00 on a Monday. There were a few people present. We were served immediately and there were plenty of tables available.
We elected to sit outside in the courtyard, which was rustic and comfortable. There was a wonderful herb garden at the back of the area.
The food was served quickly and was fresh and hot. It was superbly tasty and the portions generous. The pricing was fair.
The menu was extensive and there was beer and wine on offer.
There were bakery goods, ice cream, toasted sandwiches etc.
We had the scallop pie and a Reuben Toasted sandwich, then a Portuguese tart and a baked blueberry cheesecake.
The coffee was also excellent.
We recommend also taking the time to visit the shops nearby.

Such a cool, funky place, especially to sit outside when it's sunny and pleasant. Lovely selection of things, and decent coffee. Cool little gifty things inside, and the coolest (tallest door) I've ever seen in my life on a house (outside a castle). Really quirky place, and nice people as well.

What a gem!
Amazing staff, very cozy atmosphere with a fire crackling in the corner, and the pies... soft pastry on the bottom, crispy on top and the fillings are so fresh and warming. I tried a scallop pie, scallop and curry pie, and a pepper steak pie (over two days of course).
A fantastic bakery & cafe in a charming town.

Busy, great bakery & the best sourdough I've eaten. Gorgeous open fire, beautiful garden & yummy treats. We had a filling breaky and good coffee. Great historical town off the Midland Hey.

We started our forage journey in Evendale at the Bakery... We were so impressed! The food was delicious and beautifully presented, dietary requirements were catered for and the fire made everything feel so cosy. But better than all that was the service we received from Corey! Such a wonderful way to start the day!

Lovely ambiance and fantastic food. Apple and sultana strudel is a must try! So glad we made a stop here before headed to Launceston

So cute!!! Lovely jams and Tassie gifts. Only bad thing is it's quite smoky inside sure to open fire. But plenty of spaces in beautiful courtyard if weather is nice

High ceilings, roaring fire, quiet & cosy. This place was a lovely stop off on our way to Hobart. We had the ploughman’s board with fresh meats and cheeses. We also took a pie & tart to go, they were also delicious. Definitely recommend.

Came here for Mother's Day breakfast. Hearty breakfast was epic. Great location in a historic building. Well worth the trip from Launceston.

Excellent food and service. Prices are very reasonable for the size of portions (eggs Bendigo and veggie breakfast pictured). The attached store of Tassie goodies was a great bonus.

This place is more than just a bakery. There are beautiful historic paintings, local Tassie produce (the honey! the fudge!). Worth the time.

Great cafe, serving excellent coffee. We didn't eat here but did buy a great soughdough loaf to take home. As he was using a new bean, the barista was genuinely interested in getting feedback on the coffee. Enjoyed sitting outside in the sun in a lovely courtyard.

Stayed at Evandale for a few days while on holiday. We had coffees for 4 days from Ingleside & all were consistently delicious and served at the right temp. Wasn’t expecting so much from a small country cafe so we were all pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Great service too!

I have been going here for 30 years. Was worried when it changed hands…no need. The new owners and manager are honouring what its been while bringing in the new. Fabulous coffee, warm fire and hospitality at its best this morning on a wet august day. Week done new team 😊

The combination of fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly staff is probably why the Ingleside Bakery has to be one of my favourite places in Tasmania.

Bought a wholemeal fruit cob here and it was sensational. Great crust and fruit. The flavour balanced between the flavour of the wholemeal and the sweetness of the fruit (sultanas & raisins). We enjoyed pulling pieces off it as we travelled down to Hobart following the tourist trail.
