Dr Joe Mel

Excellent paediatrician! We consulted Dr Mel regarding our 3 month old daughter's feeding troubles. Dr Mel comprehensively assessed her and recommended we start her on solids. She took to solids like a fish to water and our problem (and stress) was solved practically overnight. He is fantastic, knowledgeable and has a wonderful temperament. I highly recommend him with all my heart. Thank you Dr Mel!!

Joe Mel, is an amazing Paediatrician ! Highly Recommend! No question is a problem , and he always gives practical advice! Extremely Caring! I Love watching how he interacts with the kids! The way he talks to the bubs and also knows how to entertain the older kids too. Fantastic and thorough specialist!

He makes you feel he graduated Med school just for you. Joe Mel was there for our 2 babies in the 90’s and he is the one for our forthcoming grand daughter in a few weeks. 5 stars are not enough for Dr Mel, multiply that by a hundred. Anie Zanazanian

Dr. Joe Mel, is an awesome Paediatrician

I visit met Dr. Mel 3 years ago and he was fantastic. I was so impressed with how he interacted with my child and spoke with me that i asked him to be there when i delivered my twins. He was great. Fast forward to now and i once again needed to see him and while the initial appointment my husband had with him was fine, i needed to call him to chase up a referral he was supposed to send the day prior. Instead of just saying, "its on the way", he decided to have a go at me for not listening to my voicemail. I saw the missed call before i saw the voicemail message. I was with the specialist doctor at the time and was under the impression that it would be reception staff calling me back as thats what they told me. It was just rude and uncalled for. He could of just told them when transfering the call, that he'd left a voicemall and the answers there but he choose to be, well, mean instead. So while i was a huge fan of his, even recommended him to friends, im not anymore. Im hurt by his rudeness because he was the one doctor i actually trusted when he came to my kids and the one doctor who actually listened to my concerns.

I suppose I came across as a nervous first time mother. I took concern after concern to Joe Mel and he was so reassuring that everything was fine. Actually everything was not fine and when I finally saw another paediatrician they had my child tested straight away and discovered the significant condition that Joe Mel had missed. So from my experience only see Joe Mel if you are looking for reassurance and support, he’s really good at that. If your child may actually need diagnosis, treatment or other medical help, choose someone else. Please note it’s more than ten years ago so perhaps he’s become more proactive.
