My brothers and I had an absolutely amazing little holiday here. Dan was such an incredibly kind, generous and patient host, and the surrounding bush land and swimming holes were so special. We are all now counting the days until we can come back to Wangat lodge. 10/10!

Wangat lodge feels like a magical home away from home for us now, 3rd time there and we’ve stayed in the bell tent, lodge room and Clancy cottage, they all have their unique features and we’ve enjoyed every stay! Disconnecting from tech here is the way to reconnect with your story, family and many new friends at the Friends Of Wangat Family Camp. Surrounded by birdsong, natural wonders amongst the forest and by the beautiful river. Cant wait to return to soak up all the goodness of Wangat lodge and we know, Dan, Verity and Leon (The Womdog ) will be there to greet warmly as always! Thank you 🙏🏼

We just had the most fantastic family camp experience at Wangat Lodge.
The kids had a blast, learned so much about nature, and were off playing, creating and exploring non stop. The guides were kind, informative and engaging.
For us adults we too loved the experience. The food, walks and evening camp fires and stories were just perfect for the soul.
Can’t wait to come back and do it again!

From the moment you drive in, you are engulfed by a calming sense of nature. I woke up to 8 different bird songs and yet the silence and tranquility across the days was equally nourishing. With so many beautiful bush walks and a river to swim in, Dan and Verity offer a beautiful, extremely sustainable place of retreat and relaxation. What a special place to stay. Thank you!

Our two nights at Melia cottage were very memorable in a nice way. The hosts Dan & Veriti were very friendly and down to earth, and even offered us their eggs and ground coffee for brekky and recommended places to visit. Definitely a place to bring friends and family or large groups as they have a newly renovated deck! Plenty places to explore near the lodge, and even at night when the frogs come out!

We recently stayed at Clancy cottage, which is set back slightly from Wangat Lodge. I couldnt recommend this place more! The cottage is very cozy with the comfiest bed I think I have ever slept on. You wake up to a beautiful view of the sun rising through the trees. Dan and Verity also made sure we had everything we needed, including firewood for our lovely evening fires. It's also a short walk to two of the best swimming holes- clear water and amazing surrounds. Do yourself a favour and book here

What a terrific place. Dan and Verity are superb hosts. We really enjoyed our weekend even in very high temperatures. I can't wait to see how the property evolves under the care of these guys. We'll be back for sure. We had enough people to mostly fill the lodge and we never felt crowded. The kids loved their time playing on the property with no TV in sight.

A rustic cottage near the Barrington tops and Chichester Dam. A very peaceful atmosphere with hidden gems surrounding the area. The rivers and waterfalls add to the atmosphere. This is a great place to escape from busy life and relax with the nature. Dan (owner) made us feel at home from the time we entered the cottage. They were extremely helpful with everything. Definitely going back again.

Wangat is not a 5 star hotel or resort. It is a 5 star environmental studies centre suitable for school and other groups. It would be great for a retreat or a reunion. The main room would also work for a conference or a yoga weekend.
Accommodation is simple but comfortable. Facilities are shared but clean and acceptable. The kitchen is commercial standard and perfect for feeding a crowd. There is also a BBQ, fire pit and a slow combustion stove. There numerous bush walks starting from the property. In summary - we loved it.

Located in the most beautiful natural bush surrounds you can feel the life surrounding you. The owners are beautiful, friendly people and the accommodation ranges from very cool cabins to cheap and comfortable lodge. This is a must visit with the family, and offers special events aimed especially for the kids.

We wanted nature and privacy. We got it! Dan and Verite could not have done more to help us settle in to their rustic charming cottage, providing milk I’d forgotten and giving us fresh ground coffee. Oh yeah mustn’t forget friendly woofer. The scenery is stunning in the Barringtons and the cozy cottage was just the place to chill after our hike. Thanks so much both of you.

We throughly enjoyed our weekend at the lodge. The accomodation was cosy, facilities great and the service was excellent. It was really nice to have the extra curricular activities, connection to nature and understand the history of the area. Highly recommended.

An excellent place to come with large friendship groups and stay in the lodge. The cabins are well suited if you are just coming with family. Connect with nature and swim in the river!

Love this place. Nice mud brick house with heaps of rooms to have a party or get together. Nice short bush walk to swimming spot. Hardly any phone reception so a great place to get back to nature and get the kids out side.
