Went once with my brother all the way from malta. It has such a good environment inside. Staffs were so nice and they also recommended us some popular food there.

We had the Okonomiyaki which was great lots of different variations but authentic flavours throughout. The Karage chicken was amazingly juicy and crisp. Also the selection of izakaya were all delicious.
If you love Japanese food give this place a go.

I've been there several times and I'm a big fan of their toriyaki and small dishes.
Personally, I can't get enough of the fried pig ears, chicken tail skewers, and truffle cream Wagyu tataki.

Great place to grab some food and catch up with your mates! Food is freshly prepared and cooked in front of you.

My favourite lunch place to get curry! For $15, this omurice curry is extremely filling. They are really generous with the egg, rice and curry and the mix works perfectly.

The caramelised onion in the curry makes it sweet. For additional sweetness, you can mix in the pickled radish.

The potato and carrot chunks were a bit undercooked, but I was only here for the curry.

Always been my favorite restaurant for yakitori in Perth. I always love the premium ox tongue here.

Better than expected. Food was exellent and the staffs were very attentive. the price was also quite affordable.

I ordered:
Yakimono - Negima (thigh), nankotsu (soft bone), kawa (skin), naka karubi (rib finger), hotate (scallop)
Tsukimi (yolk&tare sauce)
Wagyu tataki (truffle butter)

OMG EVERYTHING IS AMAZING! Best dinner i’ve had in Perth tbh ‼ The skewers were flavorful on their own BUT with the Tsukimi it just elevated the flavors even more. Perfect balance of savory & sweetness which I appreciate in Japanese food. The truffle butter for the tataki was outta this world! Honestly could dip chips in it and that’ll be perfect too. 100% highly recommend 😋

Everything here taste just so good! They have this special menu which is marinated octopus with truffle and wasabi, that should be in the menu forever man! Great skewers, the beef tataki with cream and truffle oil that just makes me fly to the heaven! Only the okonomiyaki is a little bit dry. Overall everything great. Good environment, waiters and waitresses are all so friendly! Kanpai!

Casual izakaya spot in town without all the frills. Service was great and menu was extensive - we got the mixed meat platter to share, and honestly all the meats were great!

It gets busy during dinner, so reservation is definitely recommended and opt for indoor seating. This area gets wee bit rough in the after hours if you want a disturbance free meal.

This os a great substitute for not being able to go to Japan. All the dishes were amazing both times we’ve been here. The sale clams were one of my favourites, among the assorted yakitori!

We will be back here every time we’re in Perth. $135 for 5 drinks and more than enough food. Definitely worth the price. Not all of the food was in the photos.

This is a good find in the market hall of Yagan square, Perth. If you are looking for something different with the smell and flavours of Japan , this is the place. Seating just opposite the chefs cooking our food was special, the interactive experience was entertaining, you get to see the chefs in action, you have all the smells of the food cooking and you just start to eat with your eyes and get transported to another country. The food was simple in a way, yet very well executed, beautiful balanced flavours. The staff is very nice and friendly as well as happy to educate you about japanese food. Reasonably priced too ... give it a try...it s a good little hidden gem.

Very nice place!!! Went there 2 fridays in a row! Love the food, staff are very friendly. A bit of a wait on the orders as the place is packed. My advise, order the next food you want while eating the first one you ordered.😁

First time visit and very impressed. Came for dinner with a friend, ordered the octopus dish and some mango cocktail type drink.

Service was quick and patient, food was fantastic and atmosphere was great. No complaints, and right next to the train station!

Tried their new specialised curry section of the restaurant and was not disappointed! Godzilla curry was rich in flavour and a bit spicy. It took us back to Japan, very delicious.

We love the place, best Japanese skewers! The staff are very nice and helpful. We have brought many of our friends and family here. High recommended!

I loved this place, it reminded me back in Japan. Great little place with great foods and music. The skewers and clams are the best. My husband loved the okonomiyaki and if we are to rate this place, I would give them 11 out of 10. The only thing they need to improve on is the sign to show the location of the restaurant.

Tucked away in the beautiful Yangan Square, Hiss & Smoke is a small and cosy venue that is great with other people to share the experience.

The food is fantastic and has a great selection, not to mention the theatre of watching it being prepared infront of you. I'd highly recommend you take up a bar seat infront of the chefs and watch your food being made.
Great Japanese drink selection to accompany your meal as well.
Front of house staff were pleasant and happy to help.

What an awesome eatery! Please do yourself a favor and stop in and try :)

I was walking past with a few minutes to spare late night and decided to pop my head in and try a dish. I must say, the best Okono Miyaki (Japanese pancake)I have ever had.

The decor is inviting and hosts an upbeat, modern feel with Japense flair. The open and exposed kitchen becomes engaging, as the Shefu works his magic on the hotplate.

The menu is very well priced and the dishes are more than enough to fill your belly!
