Omuya has to be one of the most underrated Japanese Restaurants south of the river. The food here is not only creative and aesthetically pleasing but also captures delicious flavours. We ordered the Chicken Cheese Katsu Set and the Prawn Omurice. They were both full of flavour; the chicken was cooked perfectly and contained delicious cheese both inside and outside, and the demi glaze sauce was made from natural beef and probably one of the best that I had. The prawns were cooked perfectly, along with the tasty flavoured rice encapsulated in that egg. The curry sauce is not your average, and it hits differently. I absolutely couldn't recommend this place more. This is my third visit.

You can easily tell the quality of a Japanese restaurant by the taste of their plain white rice.

Omuya delivers on every front.

Smoky textural Aburi, umami-laden beef tongue donburi, the juiciest perfectly charred yakitori, and spicy fresh salmon with bursts of citrus gel, Omuya nails that fine balance of proper tasting Japanese cuisine with authentic variety with just enough familiarity to not scare off the white people. They have the added bonus of being licensed as well and let me tell you, that tall cold glass of Sapporo on a warm humid night just nearly brought a tear to my eye. The cheeky range of sake from the known to the unknown was the cherry on top. *Chefs kiss* The variety of Omu Rice, Teppanyaki, and Nabe looked equally tempting, and I'll have to try them on my next visit.

Omuya genuinely might be the most underrated restaurant of it's category on the strip, and I'm absolutely baffled why I haven't heard of it till now.

The biggest of props to the chefs and front of house staff for a great evening!

Came here for the omuya omelette stayed for everything else. Food was delicious and great value. Stand out was the omuya omelette with the katsu chicken topping and the pork udon!

We came across this restaurant after being turned down by a busy cafe that didn't even give us a chance to wait for a table.

I was wondering why all the fuss about long serving time. As I was reading the second bad review from google map, all dishes have been served.

All dishes were beautifully presented, tasted good and had decent portion size. All family members enjoyed the meals. I took my hand photo alongside a dish and as a counter to a previous bad review in regard to teeny weeny portion of a meal that is similar in comparison of a kid hand.

The ambiance was great. It was unassuming from the street however as I stepped in it was tremendously spacious and lots of table available.

This restaurant is genuinely an option to consider when you are in a bustling Vic Park strip and struggle to get a table to dine in.

This is easily the most underated Japanese restaurant on this Albany Hwy. The food alone would wow you with all the flavour dancing in your mouth. They are fresh, flavourful and definitely a work of art. The service is top notch, and the atmotsphere is incredibly unique.

Delicious OMU!!!

My friend and I were craving so e Japanese food and we decided to try Omyu. We absolutely loved it.

A huge range of entree and main options. We decided to try Agadeshi tofu, karaage calamari and takoyaki balls. All the entrees were nice. Our favourites were agadeshi tofu and the takoyaki balls.

For main I chose the soft shell crab Omu omlette with curry sauce. The dish was delicious. The omlette fluffy, crab was crunchy and the curry sauce for me was the stand out. Strong and tasty. 🤤

My friend had the Omu omlette with teriyaki chicken with demi glaze (rich beef bone broth reduction). My friend though the food was amazing and the sauce delicious. Reminded him of steak diane sauce.

On my next visit I want to try the omu katsu salmon or a pasta dish. Great ambience. Staff were so friendly and professional. Eftpos wasn't working but allowed bank transfers. They handled this issue like absolute 💯 👌 professionals. Thank you 😊

Had the best chicken katsu curry and crispy katsudon ever. Also ordered their delicious chicken karaage but was too hungry to even take pictures of it. Overall dining experience was amazing and will definitely come back again!

Get your taste of omurice here in Perth. They have a great selection of food, but I would recommend to order the omurice as this is their speciality. We went as a big group (25 peeps including children), booked 2 days before and when we arrive, our table was ready and the service was superb! We ordered quiet a big variety of food, but mainly was omurice. I personally really like the wagyu beef, the portion was good and the rice n egg omelette was big enough for me, and I considered myself as a big eater. The tomato sauce was good and the curry sauce was a bit sweet to my taste but my friend enjoyed it very much! The only downside for me was that their don't have their liquor license yet as i was looking forward to enjoy my food with yuzu sake 😄 will definitely be back to try other food.

An evening at Omuya , Victoria Park . A place where Southeast Asia cusinies brings scrumptious appetite .

Omurice or omu-rice is an example of yōshoku consisting of an omelette made with fried rice and thin , fried scrambled eggs , usually topped with ketchup . It is a popular dish both commonly cooked at home and often found at western style diners in Japan . Children in particular enjoy omurice .

Soba is a thin Japanese noodle made from buckwheat . The noodles are served either chilled with a dipping sauce , or hot in a noodle soup . The variety Nagano soba includes wheat flour . In Japan , soba noodles can be found in a variety of settings , from " fast food " places to expensive specialty restaurants .

Bon Appetite ❤

We went spontaneously for lunch, no booking. (2 adults + 2 kids). Barely anyone inside. We were seated quickly and served our drinks and order promptly. The kids meals were a great size for my 8 year old, and a little too much food for my 5 year old. We ordered a bento and ramen. Both were delicious and fresh. The pork in the ramen was so tender and juicy! The one waiter/cashier was very friendly and professional. We would certainly return.

Great place, looks tiny from outside but roomy and comfortable inside. Bit like the Tardis. Very polite and welcoming staff and timely service. Good range of Japanese craft beers and Sake. Really good food that’s tasty and filling at realistic prices. I’m coming back again.

Great value for money! Friendly, helpful, cheery staff. Food was superb and priced reasonably. Loved the sukiyaki and wagyu! This is our secondd visit and so far has not disappointed. Its not at the center of the Victoria Park food strip and will surely get a parking spot nearby. This japanese resto rates in our top 5 in Perth! Nothing pretentious in this place.

Great for everything despite the price is leaning towards a little bit dear.

Waitress is working solo but was very polite to everyone. Our grandkids had a great fun with the special presentation for their meals!

Well done Omuya!

Wow! One of our regulars now.

This place is a hidden gem on the strip in East Vic Park. The food is amazing and the staff are extremely accommodating.

We come for dinner on the regular with our son who is anaphylactic to wheat. They take special care to cater for him and the food is always spot on.

Have come here for lunch with friends and they have Japanese beer on tap. Everyone is impressed who comes with us.

You guys are doing everything right, from the kitchen staff, the menu to your floor staff who are very attentive and friendly. We look forward to seeing you become and institution on the strip!

PS sorry about the bad photos! Doesn't do it justice

Pretty good Japanese restaurant!!
It’s even better than Hakata.. 100%
Staffs more friendlier, ramen more cheaper, Inexpensive and even more meat in the bowl.
But some disappointed, cus there is no Tonkatsu.. ( Pork Cutlet)

Will be coming back soon!
Excellent value for money ..

Delicious food. Generous servings that made me really full, so its quite good value for your money. Lovely waitress. The restaurant was clean, and the decor is beautiful. Only recommendation is for aircom during the summer. Eating till you're super full doesnt exactly mix with a lack of Aircon. Amazing spot.

Had the omurice. Wagyu with demi glaze was delicious. Food was a little pricey but worth it.
