Bordertown Recreation Lake

A lovely spot to camp
Every road trip into South Australia I will stay overnight. It's relatively quiet which I prefer. There is toilets, water tap, and seems to be good fishing there. I enjoyed watching the birds in the morning. There is quite a few bugs flying about there. Some mozzies. I highly recommend this spot for a night or two stay. Happy travelling.

Very scenic camp ground next to beautiful lake, Camp ground is dirt,very level with plenty of trees. Max stay 3 nights self pay station $10 per night. Opposite are grassed picnic areas, BBQ,water, toilets and dump point. Bordertown afew minutes away, awesome bakery,IGA,petrol stations, Hotel. Definitely worth a visit.

Great scenic camp ground, level dirt sites, lots of trees, next to Lake and walking tracks. Self pay $10 per night. Opposite there's a grassed picnic area with BBQ, water, dump point and toilets. Bordertown just a few minutes away, Bakery, IGA, Hotel etc.

What a beautiful place to park up for a day or three ( donation honesty box ). A lovely lakeside walking track with arty stuff to see and only a short walk into town. Sites are level and grassy and plenty of good shady trees. All in all a great spot stop before going into Victoria,

Great spot to camp, honour system to make a donation( box near entrance)Hard level ground. Plenty of trees for shade. Dog friendly, with great walking path. Loads of room. Toilets are new. BBQs provided. Dump point for cassette toilets. Garbage bins on site. Traffic noise depending on wind direction. Site is suitable for even the largest vans and 5th wheelers. Very close to town. 72 hours maximum stay. No tents allowed.

We didn't stay here, just a drive by to check it out, as we'd heard good things. Didn't disappoint. Lovely grounds, toilets, dump point. Lake looked very inviting on the 40 degree day we were there. I can't speak from experience, but I do imagine the highest noise would be fairly constant with the semi trailers at night though, so we'd park at the very back when we do stay.

Absolutely stunning scenery. Excellent for bird watching. Walk around lake is 15-20 minutes. Some nice art/history around the lake walk. Picnic tables, bins, public toilet, bbq facilities and plenty of parking available. No swimming allowed. Free self contained vehicle camping next to lake.

Great tourist park in an easily accessible location, with plenty of open space to manoeuvre large vans. Plenty of large trees for shade, but plenty of open space to ensure sunlight for solar systems to charge batteries etc. Well maintained space, but unfortunately some have left broken better bottles and remnants of campfires which was the only downside. Beautiful lake to walk around too. Donation required. Well be back for sure!

Great bakery close by, open everyday except Xmas day

Lovely spot to stop and break up a drive with a path around the lake to stretch your legs and plenty of birdlife.

Very pretty place, nice toilets, clean and well supplied, trains and trucks aplenty but to be expected, well done to council.

A hidden gem! This lake is just beautiful! Perfect to sit down at the park bench and eat all the goodies we bought from the Bordertown Bakery 👌

Fantastic free camp grounds with clean new toilets and covered bbq area. There's plenty of bins as well as a caravan dump point too. The lake is great for walking the dog in the morning before starting the next leg of the trip.

A peaceful spot for RVs to stop on the way between Adelaide and Melbourne.

Great place for large rigs. Plenty of space and trees for shade. Toilets, bbq facilities and dump point provided. Great lake to walk around and dog friendly. Would certainly stay here again.

Easy access. Close to town. Hwy a bit close but beggers cant be choosers. Great overnighter.
