Underground Gem

Clean and comfortable modern dugout with a beautiful front "garden" of potted plants. Dean was the best - patiently walking through his introduction of the house rules, and then giving recommendations of activities and local shops. His advice was very candid - "don't go there - owner makes up stories", "visit the breakaways- it's the most beautiful place around here", and even "you'll be wasting your time" when we said we wanted to go noodling, and he was spot-on for all his advice!

It is absolutely fantastic. The accomodation is huge and very well maintained. It was amazing staying underground.
The owner was very friendly and shared heaps of local knowledge about Cooper Peddy and its opals.

What an incredible experience of staying in a cave it was the highlight of a 3 month tour of Australia. And a big thank you to the owner 🙏 best wishes from the Oldrieve group

Wonderful stay at underground gem! The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. A very unique experience staying underground. Perfect outback experience not too far from town, opal fields, the breakaways and dingo fence. Don't forget to look at the amazing night sky.

Dean was extremely friendly, recommending the best places in town. The room is exactly what you are hoping for from a dugout
