Lady Dan Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine

Phở and BBH here taste like what I had back in Sài Gòn, which is a rare find! The owner sometimes goes around and shows patrons how enjoy a dish if they look confused, which in my opinion is pretty helpful for ppl who try Vietnamese for the first time!

It is a public holiday and they OPEN.
Owner taught me how to mix sauce.
All staff are nice.
Most important thing is, the food is great

Lady Dan is well Raed for a reason and everyone should experience this gem. Dine in or takeaway you will not be disappointed as the food is super fresh, bursting with flavours and great service sizes. However the dine in experience is the best, even though the fitout is basic the personal service and owner are so passionate about their food they will show you the best way to eat it and get the best out of it. The Pho is some of the best going around and the bowls are huge! You will definitely be full leaving here. Everything else looks so good too. I can't wait to go back and try more things. We were staying in Hawthorne and this was our cloest vietnamese restaurant. Lots of good reviews so figured you can go wrong. Bought a lemongrass chicken vermicelli salad and it was excellent. Bit expensive but when the food is good you cant complain too much. Good service with food ready in 15mins even when busy. We did takeaway but there are a few tables to eat in. Parking is easiest at the iga parking area across the road.

Delicious spicy noodle soup (bún bò huế). Taste like home. A little pricey but the portion is big and fulfilling. Love the service here. Seems like it is family-owned restaurant.

My first attempt on Vietnamese Food and it was great. Went with my office mates most of whom are first timers and Owner Harry was kind enough to help us with what different kinds of food to order, suggested on how to enjoy it fully by mixing few dips. Mainly there is no MSG in food ( as none of us felt thirsty after the broths).
I suggest to try BBH ❤ and prawn spring rolls.

Must say that he has risen the bar on hospitality and doubt if we'll ever like any other Vietnamese place.

Absolutely delicious. My daughter wants to move to the area so she can come back. Recommend the curry puffs. Pho spot on and no. 39 Crispy pork in little parcels

Such sweet service. And the dishes are fabulous. From the Pho to the vermicelli dishes. I eat here once a week. It never disappoints. I’m not surprised by the high Google rating. I agree!

What a lovely Vietnamese restaurant. A very nice addition to our neighbourhood. Madam Dan's cooking is wonderful. The service is excellent. You will be pleasantly greeted as you walk in, rain or shine. The menu is extensive. Diners are spoiled for choice. All the dishes I have had to date are fresh, delicious & beautifully presented. The attention to taste & presentation is most noticeable. Don't forget to look in the fridge for delicious daily desserts (eg. coconut jelly) specially prepared by Madam Dan. Do drop in and say 'hello' to madam Dan and Harry. You won't be disappointed.

This place is authentic Vietnamese for sure, despite it is not 100% traditional, they have made alterations in the menu to cater locals taste buds.
So the pho or aka rice noodles that I ordered came I was actually really surprised by the freshness of the beansprouts and sides, normally in most of the Vietnamese restraunts that I have been to, the side vegetables are not often as fresh as this, as you see in the photos.
The soup base was very good and thick with flavour, meat was tender, rice noodle was good texture. Coconut juice was freshly cracked and the ice coffee is just dam vietnamese. Would defnetly recommend this place.
Also the boss is very very welcoming, with suggestions and always make sure the taste is right for you.

We popped in for a meal en route to home after a very long trip. We were tired and hungry and ultimately very glad we found this little gem.
The food was delicious, the Thai salad flavours were amazing, and the lovely gentleman-who I assume is the owner- overhead me ask the waitress whether there was fish sauce in the Nuoc Mam Cham. He came straight over and asked did I not like fish sauce, which I confirmed. Before I knew it I had another sauce for my chicken. He also took the time to show us how to mix a chilli sauce for the pho, explaining it was tasty and not too hot. Our adult son, who is not fond of chilli, loved it!
We will definitely return!

Great place to eat. Highly recommended. It might be a little smaller but very good food, great service and good location. I highly recommend them.

Best Vietnamese food you will ever eat in Melbourne. You need to try the Fish Sauce Chicken Wings it’s very addicting in a good way. If you’re looking for something soupy, the pho is light and flavorful. The broken rice is the best rice dish you’ll ever eat. Will be back soon!

5th or 6th timing visiting, it’s our favourite Vietnamese in Melbourne. Super friendly, quick service and always so happy with our food. We will be back ! Again! And again!!

Delicious flavourful soup base to the pho (that is msg free, if that's important to you). I had the sliced beef pho, and in addition to the amazing broth, Lady Dan is super generous. There was heaps of beef, so much that i struggled to finish it all!
The sides are great too, particularly the pork belly and crispy chicken wings.
The owners are so friendly and wonderful. I've been in twice and both times they have given me little tasters of their desserts, speciality drinks, etc.
Bottom line: I'll definitely be going back!

Portion is big, taste is authentic. Recommend chicken wing and beef pho! Gentleman suggested us not order too much, which is pretty kind. Definitely will come back.

Homey food and personalised service from the waitress means the choice you make is going to suit your liking. Chicken soup that come with the egg noodles was also amazing!
