I was referred to Otis by my GP due to issues, including pain from a torn ligament in my right ankle.

The first thing I noticed was Otis’ warm and friendly approach when I had my initial consultation with him. He listened to my needs and we both agreed to proceed with an ankle reconstruction surgery. Otis and his team exceeded my expectations from the day of the surgery. He has done an exceptional job in repairing my ankle and I’m now back to doing what I love in the gym. Thanks to him, I am now pain free and back to where I was before sustaining my injury.

Sometimes the best surgery is no surgery.

I am 72yo and have significant right ankle ostreoarthritis. I can walk about 5...6km per day with managable, moderate pain.

After explaining the x-rays in detail, Otis advised that an ankle fusion would be the appropriate surgery, provide pain relief and allow me to maintain my current level of activity. Since I can manage the pain at this stage, a fusion would provide only a relatively small improvement and it would put additional strain on neighboring joints with potential adverse future consequences.

An alternative might be total ankle replacement surgery which he does not do because the longevity of it is only around 8 years and would then require revision surgery or conversion to a fusion. My own investigation showed that total ankle replacements start failing after as little as 2 years in some cases. Therefore I don't consider this a viable option for me.

Otis also provided me with a list of practical things to implement to avoid surgery for a few more years.

I was recommended to Dr Otis Wang by two physiotherapists - one of whom works at the Olympic Park Sport Medicine Clinic. They both felt that he was a surgeon with a high level of skill and the best foot orthopaedic surgeon there is. He definitely proved that to be correct. The first point of call, the reception staff, were extremely helpful, friendly and kind to me. They went out of their way to make sure my appointment times were manageable considering the distance I needed to travel to attend. On meeting Dr Otis Wang I felt extremely comfortable as he put me at ease immediately and I felt confident that I would obtain the best outcome posssible for my foot. Dr Wang thoroughly explained to me every detail of the procedure. The surgery process for me was stress free. His team were amazing. The surgery was brilliant. I am so thrilled with such a perfect outcome. My foot recovered extremely well and I am now pain free and able to get back to being active and enjoying life.

I had my ankle reconstruction surgery (for PTT dysfunction, or flatfoot) almost a year ago and I honestly could not be happier.
Mr Otis Wang has given me my mobility back after several years of being in constant pain and relatively immobile.

I first met Otis Wang early 2022, after suffering from foot pain for many years and being being offered no relief what so ever. After my first consultation with Otis Wang I booked in for surgery for posterior tibialis tendinitis. My post operative recovery has been fantastic and I am now pain free. I can walk to my hearts content.
I heard brilliant things regarding Otis prior to my surgery and I can now say he is indeed a great surgeon, but more importantly a true gentleman.

I had an EHL tendon rupture repaired by Otis Wang. He rushed my case through as an urgent case right before Christmas 2021. The surgery was a success and my tendon is healing well. Otis has a lovely manner which put me at ease and made the experience much more tolerable. Thanks Otis!

Many years ago my husband snapped his Achilles tendon
He was immediately admitted to hospital and had tests done.
The following morning a specialist came, he had arrived straight from landing at the airport after a family holiday and I might add dressed in a very colourful shirt.
It was Mr Otis Wang, he had a huge welcoming calming smile thus making us feel so comfortable.
He explained in detail the procedure that would take place to repair my husbands archilles.
Immediately the operation was organised and what seemed so difficult and worrying to us turned out to be an amazing success due to Mr Wang's expertise.

Over time incurring many injuries including breaking bones in a foot 3 times.The ability to walk properly was also accompanied with arthritis.

I had ankle ligament reconstruction surgery with Mr Wang almost 4 years ago. 9 months after injury, struggling to walk initially and several months off work another surgeon was unable to help. My GP recommended a second opinion from Otis Wang and I couldn't be happier. It is now almost as good as pre injury,I can do all the exercises I want, including playing netball. Thank you.

My daughter is a dancer and required ankle surgery in December. Otis was recommended to us and I am thankful that we chose him to perform the surgery. He is a very sincere, caring and fun guy. I had an ankle reconstruction surgery in late 2017. Mr Otis Wang performed the surgery. I would like to thank him for a wonderful job he has done. Based on all my interactions with Mr Otis Wang, I cannot rate him higher. He seems as though he genuinely cares for his patients and has exceptional interpersonal skills.
