Kenzan Japanese Restaurant

It is probably the best Japanese restaurants in Melbourne I have had so far. We all left with joy and satisfaction like just travelled to Japan.

The freshness and quality of seafood, ingredients are top notch. You can tell this when you try their Sushi and Sashimi platter. Sukiyaki and Tempura Moriawase are great too.

It has nice low lighting and minimalist decor, such a nice atmosphere. Service is great too. The price is high but it is understandable for experience and quality.

Felt like I was in Japan. Sushi is amazing and the best I've had in Australia. We had several dishes but the sushi and sashimi are the star of the show. Liked it so much that we booked again. It looks like a small place from the outside, but it is a nice sized restaurant. Staff are great as well.

If you want to eat delicious sushi and sashimi in Melbourne, this is the place.
It was my first time visiting the restaurant, and full.

Amazing fresh Japanese food. Wide and delicious options to choose from. Sushi made just like it is in Japan…with the wasabi inside between the rice and fish - the way it should be yum!! Service exceptional and very quick. Relaxing place to go for lunch and feel comfortable enjoying this awesome food. Highly recommend.

Beautiful spot for dinner! My husband took me here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and high quality! Felt like I had been transported to Japan for a few hours. Will definitely be going back! The staff were so friendly and very kind and respectful of all diners. Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening.

We have been here a couple of times and the food was amazing. This time around they seated us in one of the special rooms that made the experience even enjoyable. The staff are attentive, the food is delicious and ambience is really good.

I would compare the food to higher end Japanese restaurants in Melbourne like Kisume and Nobu etc but the price point at Kenzan is much better.

We had one of the medium boxes and the variety was great. My favourites were definitely all the salmon options.

I visited because I heard that unagi is famous. From its appearance, it was overwhelmed by the dark and quiet atmosphere, and the sushi and soft unagi were fascinating. The large size of the sashimi was not satisfactory because the composition was not diverse, but the freshness was excellent.

One of our favourite Japanese restaurants in Melbourne, serving authentic and fresh sushi and Japanese dishes. We have dined at Kenzan a number of times over the years and always order the sushi and sashimi platter and tempura. Their green tea crème brûlée is also fantastic.

Great value for top quality sushi and sashimi. We’ll definitely be back.

Some of my favourite Japanese food in Melbourne! The ambience is lovely and service is wonderful! My favourite was the Unagi and the sushi. Highly recommend!

Our first experience of Japanese restaurant and definitely its was impressive. We took a different meal to share and the quantities were good. The taste of the sashimi and the sushi was fresh and delicious. The Waitress and service was 5 stars. We will definitely came back and taste the rest of the menu

My experience at Kenza Japanese restaurant was nothing short of amazing! The sushi and sashimi were absolutely delicious, and every bite was a delight. The atmosphere was lovely, creating the perfect setting for a wonderful night out. I highly recommend Kenza to anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine. You won't be disappointed!

One of the fanciest Japanese restaurants I have been to so far. Price wise, definitely on the higher end but the quality of the food, services everything gave it justice. We were recommended the unagi rice by the staff and it absolutely did not disappoint, probably the tastiest unagi rice I have ever had. We also had the sake don with salmon which was also very tasty. Perfect spot for a date night for sure!

Such a classy Japanese restaurant with perfect service and sensational cuisine. The nigiri board was beautifully presented and a fine selection of various fish. The steak was unreal and so were the tempura mushrooms. Loved it but make sure you make a booking

Recommended. Fresh and high grading ingredients used, sashimi and sushi are the best in town. Chawan Mushi tastes divine and is definitely the most delicious I have ever eaten in Melbourne. Staffs are friendly and helpful :) A wonderful birthday dinner for my friend.

It was such a pleasure treat to dine in here celebrating a family member's birthday. This place is different from other Japanese restaurant in its style. It still preserves a traditional taste instead of fusion. I ordered a set menu with minimum of two. Started with a hearty miso soup and followed with a dumpling. Then sushi and sashimi platter was as great and the beef and rice.

The great food taste, the attentive as well as knowledgable staff assistance, and its easily access location, have completed my dining experience. Its ambiance has recalled my memory of having kaiseski during my travel in Japan back then. I definitely would like to come back here for another extraordinary dishes.

Simply the best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in Australia as good as Koyoto. Perfect in every way. Great locations, ambiance and the dishes are as fresh and cold as I’ve every experienced. Go or the oysters it’s next level !!

Amazing meal.
Nice atmosphere, super friendly staff all around.
Food was simple but done properly. The tempura was light but crunchy, prawn had sweetness bursting through. All the tempura pieces had melt in my mouth softness but still had structure.
Agedashi tofu had broth that I wish I could take home to pair with plain rice and eat all day.
Teriyaki beef cooked perfectly accompanied by it's amazing sauce.
Would love to come back.
