Issan Thai Street Food

Love this place! Not too many Thai restaurants around here, this is one of few in this part of town. The chicken fried rice was very tasty and not greasy at all, but just slightly glossy making the dish look so appetising. Also enjoyed a beautiful pad thai that is not overwhelmingly sweet like they serve at other places. Ended the meal with some vegetable curry puffs that came out piping hot. Generous portions and friendly service, A+!

The foods are great and delicious 😋 especially the raw prawns , 100%taste so fresh with the Thai street food sauces. Very good for the summer hot day.
The grill pork is so yummy and juicy not over cooked the meat like some restaurant cooked so dry and so off.

Very impressed with my experience tonight! Food hit the spot and it was all fantastic! This was my fourth time going to Issan Thai, but I should (and will) make it a regular place to dine.

They have a new crispy rice and fermented pork salad and it's my favourite dish!

Yum! This food is delicious. Duck Red Curry was delicious, and the noodles came in generous portions. The staff were very lovely and accomodating for small kids with a high chair. Will definitely come back again.

Don't be deceived by its location, and appearance.

Yes, not all ... but, definitely one of the best Thai fish cakes, pork skewers, stir-fry, etc.

Everything we ordered was yum! I felt like it brought us back to our Thailand travel.. very authentic Thai food.. the milk tea was also super good and the price is reasonable as portions are big😁 Thank you for the wonderful service!

Went here on a busy Friday night. Service was very prompt and food was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend the Pad See Ew, green papaya salad and the leek pancake. Ladies were really friendly and helpful with dish selection. Very lively atmosphere too when place was full of people. Will be back to try all the other things on the menu soon!

Never have I been so emotional with food before but here I nearly cried and not because the food was too spicy or anything, but because it was so good and nostalgic. Everything was perfect the portion sizes, the spices, the tenderness of the meats, the prices everything. And the staff were so nice and sweet too. I would give ten stars if I could.

Amazing food, welcoming people! We went for the first time and they instantly noticed that, greeted us and how patiently and nicely explained us the menu and made suggestion!! The platter was fabulous. We are planning to go again soon to taste the other items. Food and the people both will be my reasons to go there again and again. I certainly recommend it to all.

Relatively small and very casual with a menu packed with options but few explanations will leave you a bit confused on the difference between moo ping and tum tard. Staff is happy and friendly but fast, leaving with little to wait after ordering.

The first surprise was the Moo ping, deliciously charred pork skewers with a sweet glaze and spicy/sour dipping sauce, also delicious was the som tum Thai salad with that distinctive Thai salad sour flavor.

Glad to have been brought here, will definitely come again many times.

Delicious Thai food in the heart of Footscray. Loved the Chicken Pad See Ew and Curry Puffs. Everything was fresh and hot, and the service and atmosphere was great!

This place is a hidden gem. Authentic Thai food! Delicious and good value. The only negative thing I can think of is the high chair was very dirty and greesy.

Was extremely impressed how great it tasted despite being takeaway.

Disappointed that we didn't get to try these delicious meals in person. We are definitely coming back to try in the restaurant to support them very soon.

The term "Authentic Thai" seems to get thrown around carelessly though this place is the real deal.
Discovered this place in December and it's become a slight addiction. Fried noodles are excellent, fried chicken is spot on, glass noodle salad perfectly balanced... but the som tam papaya salad has become our crutch... It's hands down the best in Vic and I've tried dozens. Hand cut papaya is a rarity here and so are Thai restaurants as "authentic" as this little gem!
