The Trig on Mount Arthur

I stayed at The Trig mid-August for 2 nights on a 2 week visit from WA and wish I had of booked longer. This eclectic, artistic and well curated stay inspires creativity and makes disconnecting from the modern world easy. Would happily return!

We had a great time here! To whole point of visiting the Trig is to get into nature, and get away from the world. We got to spend endless hours by the fire, listening to records, drinking wine and playing board games! We also braved the cold to enjoy the outdoor bath which was a beautiful experience.

A few notes on the kitchen, it is well stocked for people to cook, however does not have electronic equipment (i.e. not toaster, blender, or microwave) and does not have absolutely everything you need (we couldn't find an egg flipper). If you plan to cook, be prepared for that fact (we were ambitious and tried to make pesto from scratch, it was tricky without a blender or mortar & pestle!).

Had the pleasure of spending two nights at ‘The Container’ recently and was blown away! Such a private little getaway- the perfect place to unwind and relax. The attention to detail went above and beyond!
Cannot recommend this little gem enough -
Outdoor bath, delicious local wines, the view! (+ the friendly chickens!) To top it all off, it’s 100% sustainable and self sufficient. A literal dream.
Will definitely be returning in future.

We had the most beautiful 'baby moon' at the Trig container. The accommodation has so much charm and style, with a cosy outdoor bath, lots of interesting books and maps of the area, not to mention the best record collection and a delicious breakfast made from local ingredients. The container is set amongst a beautiful bush backdrop with gorgeous views. The Trig is the perfect get away or jumping off point for NE Tas. Gordo & Suzi are the most delightful hosts and made our stay very special.

Absolutely brilliant! do yourself a favour and book, you will NOT regret it!

Beautiful and relaxing place to stay

Quirky, private, great views, some seriously dangerous trip hazards though.

DO NOT book the Trig during COVID times. We were so excited to stay here for our honeymoon, but a snap lockdown and Tasmania closing the borders forced us to cancel (both our honeymoon and our wedding). We advised the team at the Trig as soon as we learned this, and requested to simply rebook for when the state would allow us to visit. We had missed the 7 day window by one day, and they showed zero empathy and have not responded to emails after this, other than referring us to their cancellation policy. Every other accommodation provider in Tasmania has been so great and allowed us to reschedule, so it was extremely disappointing that this was the response we received from the place we were most excited about.
