We went for the Wednesday $39 steak special and it was delicious. It was waygu and came with salad, roast potatoes and mustard dressing. Steak was tender and cooked medium rare. My only peeve was I could have eaten double the amount of potatoes served! We sat outside and it was very pleasant. Can recommend.

The food is cooked to perfection (every time) and the service is always friendly, helpful, quick and most importantly, professional.

The view if sitting outside is great for people watching and has a large park opposite to soak in the scenery.

Good place for single, couple or group diners.

Best steak place I’ve been so far and the staff are so polite. Amazing Rib Eye, I struggle to finish. The bank and its history since 1934.

Real fortunate to have stumbled upon this hidden gem. Amazing food and vibes at reasonable prices. Big shoutout to Josh and Shane who were super friendly and took the time to show us around the fascinating historical building. Not just a restaurant but a destination on its own.

Lovely place in Mornington town to stop in for a nice lunch. It is full of heritage and homestyle appeal with its rustic woody walls and flooring with modernised-old fashioned finishings telling age old stories of the town bank it once was. Family-friendly yet a diner that one is able to enjoy a quick or slow meal if you will, alone. Many beers on tap available, outdoor and indoor seating, as well as a bar with high stools for the sports fan. It is a proper steakhouse with its cuts proudly displayed to spoil you for choice, and a steak sandwich and wagyu burger are daily specials, pork chops (no more lamb on the new menu) but it also has amazing fresh seafood of the day which included nicely flash fried five-spiced calamari, barramundi butterflied wings, a grilled fish and chips, and for the meatless diet - salad, garlic buttered brocollini, vegetarian soups and a wicked bread and butter pudding. Oolala! I believe they took away the mediterranean inspired food as well like the baked eggs and tzaziki.
Free parking for 2hrs if you can find any lots upfront. Additionally it overlooks the park with beautiful trees, a cricket pitch, the local playground with an expansive shipwreck theme, and if you veer beyond, the Foreshore boatshed harbour overlooking a quiet beach bay. Find the ice cream truck there!

What a gem of a place. The smoked chicken linguine was absolutely delicious. The porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection. Thoroughly recommend this place. A bit pricey but totally worth it. The staff are super friendly as well.

After recently having a poorly cooked and pricy breakfast in Deepdeen, we were looking for breakfast on our drive back to Melbourne. It was great. I had 2 magic coffee that were perfect and the full breakfast. The poached eggs were runny and everything tasty, good portions. Lovely position outside overlooking the park.

We lived in the area years ago but have since moved but we remember the Counting House (it is situated in an old bank) very fondly. So we decided to revisit recently. Glad we did, the steak and fish were great. Staff were friendly and catered for my partner who prefers gluten free options. Good wine list.

We had a fantastic breakfast at Counting House Bar & Grill. The kids loved their waffles and bacon and egg dishes. I enjoyed a delicious cappuccino and a spectacular egg and bacon dish. Arbel and his staff were amazing hosts and provided us with excellent service. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. The location was also great. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great breakfast or a steak lunch or dinner. They have amazing steaks that they specialize in.

We dined here for Mothers Day, booked via TheFork and were greatful to reserve a table. Albeit later in the afternoon, it suited us nicely.

The staff upon entry was friendly and prompt to seat us, found the booking no issues. They have a smaller and larger dining hall, plenty of natural sunlight flowing in and comfortably spaced tables.

The main attraction on the menu are their variety of steak options, but they also offer pasta and other western dishes during normal trade. We enjoyed our visit!

After starting to lose hope in the service of Mornington restaurants we discovered the Counting House Bar & Grill. A beautiful seaside set up, we sat outside on their decking tables and enjoyed both beautiful service and food. The entree we had kingfish carpaccio (eaten before a photo opportunity!) which was beautiful and fresh. For main, I had the pumpkin gnocchi, which was really tasty with beautiful creamy feta. My husband went for the big 700g T Bone. It was massive! He likes it on the rare side, so when asking for medium rare, the waiter did advise that the section near the bone would be rare but he likes it that way, so don't be put off by the photo! My 7yr old had fish and chips, which were crispy, with large hand cut chips. They had a great selection of wine, the service was spot on and attentive. Well done!

High quality restaurant serving high quality steaks. The building was an old bank and has a real charm and character to it.
Service was great and friendly.
The steak was one of the best I've had in a long time, the sauce was not necessary so I had it with the chips instead.
Would definitely come back for sure.

It’s definitely gonna be one of our favourite and must go places in Mornington Peninsula. Food and service is amazing! The interior design and decoration is retro and classic. Will be back again for sure! Highly recommended!!!
