Guys, it's an okay parking for the area, but the system is old. So the ticket machine is the same for the card payment. Do not trust that tap thingy tower next to it - useless machine.

Steps to get out of carpark:
1. Insert ticket
2. Wait for it to ask for payment
3. Insert your card to the same slot where ticket went in
4. Wait for it to return card and retrieve card.
5. Wait for your ticket to be returned.
6. Voila! Boom gate opens and your free like Dobby

If you watched movie, validate your ticket first before returning to your car. Ticket validating box machine at the box office upstairs.

Hope this saves other people 30mins of their lives, I know I got stuck and will never get that back. All in all, 2 stars coz it's still secure and good, but system is dated. Hope it gets better newer system

Earlier this week I had the same bad experience at this car park as many of the other reviewers. When I tried to exit ,the boom gate would not open and the intercom and phone options for assistance were not very helpful. At one stage the responder on the advertised phone line asked me if I was calling from Western Australia, which makes me question whether the call service is even based in Australia. The point is that the complaints made by reviewers range from the present time , to several years ago. The owners of the business have made measly apologies to their customers , which shows that they are aware of the situation and have been so for some time but have taken no remedial action.I would suggest that Palace Cinemas stop offering discounted parking to cinema patrons at this car park and negotiate an agreement for cinema goers with other parking stations in the area
I certainly will not use this park again as it is clear to me that being able to exit is a game of chance that I am nor prepared to play.

I am assuming this is the parking under Norton Plaza. Last time I went here (A few years ago now) I was 1 minute over the extra 30 minutes they give you. As this can be a difference in the drivers time piece and the Carpark's system you would think there would be flexibility given. They insisted I pay which I proceeded to do but their system wouldn't accept saying "insufficient funds" and I knew there was easily enough funds on the card and I used those funds later on that night on the internet (I think) so the funds were there ! It was not just the inflexibility but the overall attitude. I have never used this Carpark since and have NO intention of ever using again !!!

What a joke! They are supposed to be open till midnight every night. Got out of the movies at 9pm and the carpark is closed! Called them and they will come and open the door if we pay them $30 over the phone, how suspicious! Why is the carpark closed and why do we have to pay to get it opened??? When I wouldn’t give him my credit card over the phone, he hung up on me. What an appalling car park. Do not recommend.

The machine getting into the car park was broken and it took a considerable amount of time to get help. I was instructed to go the payment machine to get a ticket and on the way out when I tried to pay the same machine told me the ticket was invalid. Again I had to press a button to get help. I paid and then when I got to the gates the machine once again said the new ticket was invalid. Whole process was totally chaotic. Avoid this car park if you can.

Stuck at exit ! Wouldn’t accept the credit card !! Advertised at $9 overnight but we were charged $24 for 2.5 hrs after 6pm. Voice from machine ( sounded like from OS) was no help at all. Kept waiting at exit..!! Total rip off !!

To Jeff/George,

How DARE you speak to my mother like that!?

My mum calls to double-check the information online about the flat rate for cinema patrons is up-to-date (These sites are often out-of-date or wrong, and judging by other reviews, the pricing information is deliberately misleading for this particular parking.) and he starts with "Well, of course, it's on the site." "Yes, that's correct." would have sufficed, but okay. My mum, "So it's an 8 dollar flat rate?" Jeff/Geoff, "Well, the flat rate is only for intelligent people. You have to bring your intelligence test." My mum was on speaker, so I hear all this. I then yell, "She's a medical doctor!", and my mum, completely calm says to the disgusting low-life parking guy, "Thank you for your sarcasm. You're obviously bored." Then he goes, "Do you have any valium?" and continues getting agitated with my mum (No idea why HE would be agitated in this situation.) and continues yelling things at her until she hangs up. Look, go see a GP. Get a recommendation for a psychiatrist or psychologist because you obviously have personal problems you're taking out on other people. I pray you don't have a partner or children because their lives would be rough. My mum is stronger and more intelligent than the two of us combined. Google should allow zero stars. Your average would be lower if they did. Consider all the 1 star reviews to be 0 stars.

They only accept physical credit cards for payment.
Seriously?? Just hopeless.
I had cash and my cards on the phone which is all I use these days like a lot of people, and I had no way to pay for the parking.
Only way to deal with it was to drive to the barrier to speak on the intercom, and then sit there while they called me and took my credit card number which was lucky I knew by heart. Sat there for 10 minutes blocking the exit.

First time user of this carpark trying to do a 15 minute food shop. Once you drive down you’re paying something even if you change your mind, unless you plan on reversing up and out into other cars. WARNING if you enter after 6pm you will pay $30 even if you’re only there for a few minutes. And its not obvious on their signage as your focus is only on the large printed normal hours.

Should be ZERO STAR. Never trust Google again. Very bad experience today16/09/2017. No entry time printed in the ticket and charge very high. $10 for first hour and $17 for 2 hours or 1hour 2 minutes. I am a new visitor to this area and easily trust the review score. My friend and I drive two cars to attend kid music concert. She rush to run in after activity as she thinks it is in a hour. Unfortunately, change two hours with minutes extended.

This is the third week in a row of ending up stuck in the carpark because the boomgate wont recognise paid tickets. The intercoms DO NOT WORK. The phone numbers shown to call DO NOT WORK.
Just don't bother. Park at Norton Street Plaza instead or try the council parking around the corner.

Park here at your peril. The machine swallowed my credit card, and I was on hold for 25 minutes. There were three cars behind me, waiting to leave and couldn't!

Disgusting. I asked about car park pricing. Man on other end of the line stated “didn’t you read the website”. I stated that the information was misleading. He said “dont use us then”. He then used my mobile number and sent me this text. Il be following up with council.

Debacle. Broken system. Stuck behind cars that couldn't get out for ages. Never go here. Ticket machine broken. Intercom broken. Avoid.

WORST PARKING EVER! They only accept physical credit cards in 2021 in a faulty machine. Help line over the phone was really unhelpful and rude. Avoid this parking at all cost.
