Gin Gin Hospital

I could not fault the care my wife received at Gin Gin Hospital today. She had a 1/2 tonne horse spin and use her foot as a base. The nurses were gentle and extremely caring. Far more better than a public hospital in Bundaberg. Gin Gin is very lucky to have it.

We could not rate this hospital service any higher.
My son had a slight accident 7 days ago on the Gold Coast and needed stitches.
They had to be looked at today on our way home to Townsville and after 3 hrs trying to find a medical practitioner, we found the Gin Gin hospital.
The nurse on duty, Jess, didn't hesitate to help me, see my son, then get a second opinion from 2 other lovely, helpful nurses as well.
They were very confident, knowledgeable and so kind.
We were gone from there within 5 minutes with the happy and safe feeling that my son was fine.

Being in hospital is never fun and 26 days "inside" could drive the best of us a little nuts.Well if you live out Gin Gin way and have to have a stay in hospital ,you are so lucky !
The Dr s at Gin Gin are exceptional .Running very busy surgeries and being the attending on call Dr s at the hospital would be a very difficult life at the best of times .However every morning when rounds are due in they come with a smile and listening ears ,observant eyes and incredible knowledge of wide spread health conditions and problems.When they leave your room you know that they are "onto it" and that you are in very good hands .
How do I tell you about the nurses ? What superlatives can I say about them all .Three nurses on day shifts two on the nights and that is to attend all patients in house plus accident and emergency .Wow do they have their hands full.
Considering the work load upon these ladies I never once felt neglected nor did I find myself without aide when I required it .I was always treated with respect ,care and concern for my welfare,and in a professional, friendly manner .
The hospitality and cleaning staff ,and wards-man were a huge part of my experience with Gin Gin hospital and all of it, also positive .The cooks went out of their way to cater for my special dietary needs and did this with great knowledge ,understanding and care .Not to mention their superb culinary skills.I never went hungry and shared many laughs with these awesome people .
There is nothing better than a lovely clean home and nothing better than a lovely clean, fresh, temporary home attended to every day by enthusiastic thorough,happy diligent people cleaning your room and amenities for you .I really wanted to bring them with me when I left the hospital,but I realized that my selfish desire was not in the interest of the community .
No one wants to be sick but every one would want to recover in a place like Gin Gin Hospital .
It is the staff that make it what it is and Gin gin should be so proud of all that work at the hospital (admin are awesome too) and we all should be so very very grateful that hospitals and care, like I have received, are all paid for by the taxpayers of our great country . I would be more than happy to pay a small fee towards the running of facilities such as this .
I want to say thank you Gin Gin Hospital ,thank you for everything .I wish that there was a way that we as a community could rally together and either get another nurse allocated per shift ,or get another GP to open in town and take some of the burden of non urgent patients off the hospital and free up the appointment books of the current surgeries.
Perhaps some one reading this might know the way to get this started .
We could all help to look after one of the assets that we have here, and that is, the people of the Gin Gin Hospital.

I took my daughter this morning due to reaction from covid injection. Pains in chest and arm. Staff were wonderful. As soon as we arrived they took her straight through and onto echo machine. Thank you so much.

Small country hospital with caring staff .

After a fall which did damage to my mental processing for over 18 months, and to my body still 7 years later, the night I went in I was physically in pain but I kept saying my pain was #2 on the pain scale when if my brain was working right should have been 9 or 10. The nurse in emergency if she was more experienced probably should have thought this doesn't add up. She instead said to me don't you think you're over doing it a bit in regards to my crying. No actually I felt like I'd had my car accident again where I flipped my car front to back. I think staff need to be better educated to look for signs like these and to show abit more empathy.

You took an oath to do no harm!!! Wake up you're doing harm!!!!!
The whole medical industry should be ashamed of it's self!
This small town hospital included!

This hospital is terrible, everything and everybody is extremely slow and everything takes forever to get done, e.g. getting medicine has taken nearly 2 hours.

If I could give it below zero I would.
