I have had the pleasure of visiting this establishment twice recently, and I wish to extend my applause to the staff for their consistently warm and welcoming hospitality. The impeccable cuisine and outstanding customer service leave no room for criticism. The wine recommendations, perfectly complementing the culinary experience, were also greatly appreciated.

This is truly a place I would like to revisit whenever the opportunity arises.

This is an outstanding restaurant which ranks in my top favourites, not just for steaks.

This establishment has come a long way since my first visits to the Cleveland Street location. The space is cleanly presented while being warmly inviting.

There's no doubt that their steaks are the highlight of their menu with both fresh grain fed and dry aged options.

We settled on their blood sausage entree, kingfish rillettes and the famous T-Bone steak. All dishes were fantastic in their flavour and the steak was cooked to perfection and properly seasoned accompanied with in-house chimichurri sauce.

Service was friendly and efficient. They helped explain the options and assisted with our choices.

Overall, there aren't many other restaurants which would top Porteno for the quality of meat dishes, while their other dishes also impress.

A great friend of ours introduced me to this restaurant. It is near bus stops and a good 6minute walk from central station. Tucked away from the husting road, it is a good place for meet ups.
Always loving their steaks and bone marrow.

We’ve got to try this restaurant and by far became our favourite, food is delicious and for sure they have the best staff, so efficient! Definitely worth it

Tonight was incredible. The service x the food = fantastic. The butter, pork and the scallops were a must get. The portion sizing was huge and we had leftovers. The service was so attentive and they even put a little candle on our dessert for my bfs birthday. The only downfall was the noise inside - I would recommend sitting outside for some fresh air!

An exploration of wood seared steak and amazing accompanying wines. It's a celebration of food from a carnivores perspective. Enjoyed savouring every bite.

Ok so everything about this place was 5/5 for us.
The service was pretty good and the waiter was very friendly and professional.
The food was very tasty from the antipasto all the way to dessert.
The portions are very generous and the steak is absolutely amazing. We got the $145 pp menu and it was more than enough. Had to take home almost half of it.
Definitely worth the money.

Everything was impeccable. The steak was cooked accordingly to medium rare plus and the taste was spectacular. Service was great too. Should get a Michelin Star!

Simply cannot fault this place.
Had gone there for dinner with my niece and nephew and it was fantastic.
Food- they are good if not great at what they do! The dry aged beef was delicious with a side serve of the crunchiest fries we have had and tasty Brussel sprouts, the cheese starter with their homemade sour dough to absolutely not miss and the wine list on point to compliment the food. There are options for vegetarians and non red meat eaters.
Our server Oliver was fantastic and attentive.
The atmosphere and ambiance is moody, with the smokehouse fires and aroma wafting through the air and just initiate enough to feel special.
Would absolutely come again.

Best place for steak in Sydney, with warm services and juicy steaks. Ordered M4+ and M8+ steaks with my friend, we all love the atmosphere in this restaurant.

I've been hanging to try porteno for along time and was lucky enough to have our work Christmas dinner here. We did the banquet option per person and then we added a tomahawk, the mayura station flat iron waygu and the Jacobs creek inside skirt.

For me the flat iron steak was my favourite. The tenderness was second to none and the flavour was amazing rich and deep while being seasoned to perfection my knife barely had to do any work.

Definitely one of the best steak joints in Sydney with a wine menu to match.

I can't wait to come back with my partner.

Really great service and steak the mbs9+ Wagyu is a MUST try！tender and melt in your mouth with extra smoky flavor😋😋 we had the set menu cost around $200 per person. We also had a few bottle of Moscato! Overall, It was not cheap but consider the servers and products I will say it’s bang for the buck!

Firstly, Garth and Sarah - the most incredibly warm and welcoming service I’ve ever received in a restaurant. This alone would have me return food aside. Thank you.

Luckily, the food was equally incredible. Steak was perfectly cooked, the house Malbec was matched to perfection without breaking the bank. Highly recommend the veal sweetbreads - first time trying, can see how it is a polarising dish. I personally loved it and found the umami, fatty textured was a neat pairing with the steak.

We booked another dinner for next month whilst we were there. A true gem in the Sydney food scene, kinda sad it’s taken me so long to tick it off the list

The restaurant has a superb beef steak. If you are a beef lover definitely a place to visit when you are in Sydney.
Not only the beef they have great fish/ pork :))) the side dishes are also great :)) do come and have a good time here :)))

Our Anniversary couldn't have been spent at a better place. Porteno never disappoints. From the mouth-watering dry aged steaks to a beef tongue delicacy the food is spectacular.. everything is worth a try. Oh and the service! Garth is an absolute legend, he provided first class service and made us feel at home. His energy and attentiveness made our experience absolutely flawless.

All the savoury dishes we ordered were absolutely amazing: the dry-aged rib eye steak, the woodfired bone marrow, the woodfired cheese, the wagyu fat fried potatoes, and a tune special. Really impressed and would come again. All the desserts though were nothing special.

Another of these hard to fault venues. Often something lingers when thinking how to review as a crux or an issue with a visit. Nothing at all. Service was professional but warm and friendly. The food was nailed right across the board from the whipped butter and bread to the medium rare ribeye and Flan. Love that for a Friday lunch I didn't feel awkward or uncomfortable by the surrounds. Amazing venue highly recommend.
