Oak Dairy Bar

Our family stopped here on a trip from Sydney to the Barrington Coast. We just needed a quick feed without making too much of a detour, and from the outside it looked like any of the many other greasy burger and chips joints we’ve often stopped by for a quick bite while travelling. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the Oak Dairy Bar!
- The food was varied, with lots of great options for sweets, sandwiches, pies, wraps, salads, and more, and looked very fresh. Their cold drinks fridges were well stocked with lots of nice variety as well!
- The staff were wonderfully friendly and hospitable, genuinely pleasant to interact with and seemed to enjoy/take pride in their work.
- The restaurant was very clean! There were little kids wandering around and you could tell it was a clean and friendly environment for them. Overall the restaurant looked well cared for and organised too.

All in all, this went above and beyond my expectation of what we were stopping for — definitely a great place to visit if you’re in the area or need a road trip pit stop!

Love bringing my grandaughter here for icecream as a treat. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. She got a free icecream on he birthday. A big shout out to Kirra 🥰
The food and cafe are homestyle good. It's a little piece of authentic Australia.

Bought burgers here for the first time, amazing fresh cooked old fashioned burger on a bun. Great coffee. Very friendly staff , great service. One of the few places that make a good old fashioned hamburger. Highly recommend

A blast from the past, the milk bar is the last of its kind. A classic dated service centre off the highway, it serves a range of delicious milkshakes and thick shakes as well as your usual fried goods and some other cafe type foods.
It has a wildness to it, on the outskirts of bushland and far from a town centre yet a stone’s throw from the Pacific Highway.
The staff are lovely and do their best to cater to the range of characters that walk through the doors. The managers should be proud at the how well they run the business. I had the pleasure to meet the manager one late afternoon and he was so kind and friendly, I hope he never lets go of his eagerness and enthusiasm!

Excellent road stop. We were on the way to Port Stephen and stoped for lunch, had a coffee and an excellent chat with the owner. Family run business with a welcoming good vibe.

great burgers, great chicken, great everything. But the standout is truly the thick shakes, my partner is very picky about the thickness, most she considers just regular milkshakes, these however filled me up alone.

Love this place. The food is yummy and always a value for money, As a large family, we highly recommend it, and if you have young kids they are the best.
There is a sevo next door and good toilet available
And sometimes a small market
It's a common motorcycle stop also

Had the pleasure of coming to one of my nans old food stops as a kid this was great, chicken schnitzel was great, yummy kebab sticks, beautiful food overall and the thickshakes/milkshakes are really good quality with lots of flavours

This cafe is aways great. Good service. Great food. Massive servings. A great option on the way to the hunter valley.

Nce to see adults working for a change, great customer service, place is clean and tidy , displays clean and tidy , shame the younger ones you employ arnt as good as the adults you have working! Keep up the good work ladies nicest and cleanest I’ve seen the place in a long time!

Had an amazing super dog made by Jolene, would recommend the cheese kranskys. I also had THE BEST thickshake I've ever had from a restaurant, evident by the Boba straw needed to drink it 😋
