I have a son in year 8 and a daughter in year 7 that attend this school. My expectations of the school were a little worriesome after reading reviews and hearing feedback from people outside the area who stated they had heard bad things. The school has been very supportive in many ways. Bullying was dealt with very quickly and props to Mel in the wellbeing team who has been completely engaged in making sure my children were supported and actively involved me with reports and suggestions for different situations where young adolescents can find themselves at such a vulnerable stage in their lives with hormonal changes and the likes. The staff are always very helpful, happy and understanding. The teachers are engaging and have your childrens best interests in mind and at the forefront. Any concerns are relayed home promptly. A couple little quirks are if the child is running late a few minutes, that has blown out to my child missing an hour of schooling while sitting waiting for the person to sign them off as present before he was allowed to attend class. The other is recieving COVID letters daily almost with parent teacher interviews held in the school basketball hall with a big turnout but absolutely no controls to mitigate the contagion. It made me feel quite uncomfortable.v I would think an open air setup in the undercover area would have been a wiser choice. So it is my opinion that school could improve in ways but at the same time the team has fantastic attributes in so many other ways. They have great cultural and support programs to assist when or if needed. I would recommend this school to anyone based on mine and my children's dealings. Anyone who says otherwise maybe didn't approach the situation correctly giving them a sour taste as I read in some previous reviews. Overall 41/2 star.

It's got a bad wrap over the years but in all honesty I can't fault the school. There are so many opportunities for the kids. The staff are wonderful and supportive to the kids. Don't go by what you hear on the grape vine. All schools have troubled kids, it doesn't matter where you attend. Trust in your child that they will make the right choices..

ALL teachers care about everyone, teachers will only not show respect or believe a kid if the kid disrespects and lies to them. Which is very reasonable, you can’t trust someone if they’ve lied to your before

Great school the teachers really care as long as you aren’t one of those kids that are troublemakers & you give the teachers basic respect

Great school, it deserves the 4 stars, although with some of the annoying kids/bullys bully you and all the school does is move them to the unit, there is one kid I'm not going to name, but if you know him you know him, he isn't even expelled yet after having multiple detentions, suspensions, red cards, etc. If it was better my rating would've been better.

The teachers there are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, but the bullying is disgusting and the school doesn’t do anything about it. They have poor support for mental health and people who struggle to learn in the classroom. It’s not a very welcoming environment, and it’s quite difficult to fit in / find friends if you aren’t an eshay.

The fact that this school cares more about your uniform than your mental health is shocking, even just the extent they take to caring about the uniform here is horrid? your excuses for girls not being allowed to wear leggings is "boys will stare", are you SERIOUS??? not to mention the bullying is absolutely overlooked, you's truly do not care until it is too late, my mental health has decreased horrendously in the past 4 years of attending Northlakes and i dread coming. I've been bullied here, and even after consulting to my year advisors at the time, NOTHING was done until i stood up for myself and got the blame, its so unfair???

If I could give this rating 0 stars I would.
This is a horrible school! They have no respect for students or eachother, bulling is taken place everyday and teachers do nothing about it. The school cares about your uniform and what you’re wearing over your mental health. It is disgusting!

Honestly, the worst school I've ever been to like I was only there for 1 year and had the worst experience a kid can have. The teachers don't care if someone gets bashed or bullied, DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS THERE!!! don't risk it.

Hands down the single worst school experience I ever had. My family moved a lot so i attended many different schools but Northlakes still always stay with me as the place I was horrifically bullied and no one did a single thing to help me. The effects have lasted and badly damaged my trust in people.
