Taverners Hill Infants School

Our family are grateful to the wonderful 'gentle' start to school life Taverners has provided our child, and to be a part of the Tavs community - a small school environment within Sydney's Inner West. At Taverners Hill, the small class sizes enable every student to be heard and receive the attention that is important during the early years. Being an Infants School, the teachers are all experienced in early education and go above & beyond to understand & assist each of the children's individual’s needs. It was such a smooth transition for my child from preschool and it has been enriching to see each child feel safe, grow in confidence, and enjoy being at school each day. We couldn't recommend the school highly enough – it’s one of the best schools in the Inner West. Thank you to the wonderful, dedicated teachers and equally dedicated Principal Ms. Gardner.

Taverners Hill is such an amazing infants school. The teachers and staff are so friendly and supportive. The teachers always give you info about your child’s learning and are open to discussing any possible issues. My son has grown so much since coming here. The small student numbers are so beneficial to young children just starting to learn and experience about big school.

Taverners Hill is the most incredible school. The staff genuinely know and care for every student, the kids are respectful and proud of their school, and the community is very welcoming. We have loved our time at Tavs and couldn't have asked for a better start to school!

I have a child attending Tavs. I love that this is a school for K-2 only. The teachers specialise in younger children and it really shows. It was such a great transition for my child from preschool. It's a small school - so not overwhelming and noisy - and teachers know every child. The school has great leadership and extra curriculars including drama and french. Before and after school care is run by TASK and they always have casual places - which is very convenient. There is a K-6 school much closer to where we live, but we travel the extra distance because Tavs is worth it!

When we moved into the area, everyone we met talked about how great Tavs was and it's proven to be so! It's such a supportive introduction into the school system and an incredible community asset. All the teachers and staff at Tavs are terrific. We are comforted knowing that our daughter and son are in an environment where they can grow, have a voice and be heard.

As a teacher, setting my son up for a quality kindergarten was paramount for me. At Taverners Hill, the small class sizes enables students to be heard and receive the attention that is important during their early years. So when I found out that I didn’t need to be in the catchment area to enrol at Taverners Hill, I was thrilled and didn’t hesitate in enrolling my son. He comes home raving about his teacher, the insects and lizards he’s found for the day and the friends he’s made. It is such a piece of mind knowing that he’s left in good hands.

I used to go here. I loved it! Great teachers, unique community involvement (I haven't heard of schools that involve the local community this much) and friendly students make this school an exceptional school!
