Great tracks (in particular the Flow tracks match our skill levels) and great atmosphere with great views on the Barrington Tops. Also kids friendly if you take the shuttle. Only negative is the ride up the hills ends up being on the main fire trail being shared with the shuttle, which makes it for some scary passes with the mini bus.

Really enjoyed my visit and immediately wished I was staying longer, one day in Dungog isn't enough.

I rode the 15km intermediate Mountain Bike loop but made the mistake of not taking enough water and a snack with me. Was absolutely exhausted by the end and the 35°c day didn't help.

The trails are well built following the contours of the hills which are quite tall and long. The flow track was fast and fun.
Loved the sculptures near the start of the trail and hope more get added to the common.

I encountered one women walking her 4 dogs off leash up the wrong way of a descending trail. Thankfully I saw them early and wasn't travelling fast.

Great place to ride and locals are very welcoming of tourist.

There are 2 dedicated flow trails here that I've ridden and both are impeccably built. One is a green beginners trail and the other is a blue intermediate trail.

There are heaps of cross country trails to ride.

There are no toilets on-site and no bins here so whatever you take in, take it out with you.

There are a few picnic tables a water tank in the car park with a pump track and a few tabletops to practice jumping over.
The town has plenty of accommodation for an overnight or few day stay.

The town has 2 pubs and a brewery, chemist, cafes, gift shops, bike shop, grocery shop, fuel etc. So you can obtain everything in town you need to get you by.

Great place to ride highly recommend a visit.

Excellent flow trails and clean new toilet amd shower facilities which is an excellent touch given how hot and dusty you get riding here. My only criticism is that there is no shade at the top of the climb when you stop to have a breather before you descend a again.

Excellent day at Dungog, flow trails were great and XC was challenging and well signposted. Scenery is hard to beat, especially a river swim after a ride! Food aplenty in the town of Dungog. MTB paradise

Been following trailforks to find places to stay on my big lap. Not only did dungog have awesome riding but also an amazing community, found ourselves staying 3 days, eating locally, using the swimming pool and running round the oval.
If you have the opportunity it is a must visit.

This claims to have different skill levels associated for mountain bikers
They are not 109% clear.

But the tracks overall are fantastic.

Be warned a real challenge and workout for you and your bike.

Me and my sons saw alot of people with specially equipped very expensive mountain trail bicycles.

The views are absolutely exceptional.

With regards to what you need for the trails well I have used my wife's mountain bike we bought in 1998 it has no shocks or suspension at all.

A bit rough going downhill but it works, so you dont need really fancy wheels.

I kept it in the lowest gear for going downhill so what I mean the same gear you use to go up a hill why because you don't have time to change and you pick up speed very very quickly, so cover both brakes is a must.

Make sure tyres are full off road and alittle bit soft.

Protection is an absolute MUST.
We all use normal cycling helmets but I have seen trail bike full face type helmets and I strongly see the benefit and agree with them.

Gloves that have padding are essential as are elbow pads and knee pads.

One of my sons has full body armour covering the torso and another has upper arm padding.

You can't overdo PPE.

A great mountain bike trail, be safe take care not too fast.

Thoroughly recommend.
Awesome trail.

Oh by the way we have as standard for safety and location finding purposes both front and rear bike lights.

Great ride, XC trails are well marked for 1st timers to easily navigate. Flow trails are unreal. Toilets and showers on site. Brekky burger from Stella Cafe in Dungog was amazing, maybe not everyone's taste but for the true bacon and egg roll lover you'd never drive past it again on a fresh brioche bun 🤣🤣.

We had a great day out riding Dungog Common for the first time. We did a loop combining a bit of the 10 and a bit of the 15km trails. The flow track at the end was great fun to reward ourselves for the hill climb. If we had more time we would have definitely looked to use the shuttle service. Our only issue was track navigation. We had to stop at many intersections to figure out which path we needed to take. A photo of the map came in handy.

A must visit in Dungog! So much fun. A challenging getting up the hill, but worth it.

Had a great time at Dungog Common. Really good mix of flow tracks and cross-country. Reasonably well signposted with a comprehensive map at the entrance. Really nice town to visit, had lunch at the brewery which was fantastic. Well worth a visit.

Blue flow trail was super fun, compared to Awaba that is actually on a mountain the trail designers have done a great job not sure how with half the hill that Awaba has
but definitely worth the visit

Love the tracks at the common. Not super groomed which is great. Plenty of rocks (roadie filters) to keep you on your toes.
Also there is a pump track under construction so can't wait to ride that

Rode the Cross Country track today and finished off with the flow tracks. Good fun, the XC track is quite technical in some parts and is of an intermediate level. We had some beginners with us and they walked over some of the most technical bits and found the track quite long. Signage is a bit hit and miss, but the MTB community is working on this.

The beginner flow track is good, and as advertised, the intermediate flow track one is fun with some quite technical bits. A great day out getting dirty.

Such a great MTB spot, so glad I found it on the web. The flow trail/jump street/easy street are as good if not better than Stromlo/Thredbo flow trails. Well worth a trip, make sure you have some cash to donate for trail building and stop it at the Tinshed for a great beer.
