Mannering Park Public School

I attended this school from kinder in 1977 to 6th grade with the principal tom weeks still remaining upon my departure for high school. This school gave me so many great long lasting memories that I regard them as my best , and i am pleased to see the school still is a great place for kids when I visit the school to support my godson jarred.

This is a beautiful community school of approx 220 students located on the central coast, south end of Lake Macquarie, as it is a small little school most students find it easy to get to know each other and build strong bonds between them. The teachers at the school are highly enthusisatic, supportive and friendly. They lack the continued support of a quality principal, to manage the small school. The Learning support staff at the school are amazing and go above and beyond for the students an essential asset to every school. The start of the year as for some public school could be improved as classes were only formed in week 3, and students told of their teachers, I understand it is based on number of enrolments but it could be better if we are told in the first week than adjusted if need be. Also first day back children were not told where they were going or where to put bags and on the day that classes were formed parents were not told exactly where to pick up their children from (Alot of confused parents and children today). I saw alot of tears today when the kindy class was seperated into new classes at week 3. I guess the positive to this might be that they can be put in where teachers think they will develop and thrive the most.
