Great place. Enjoy the gushing water and stroll around the scenic gardens around. The whole area is very nice. Walk along the pedestrian pathway on the bridge. Look over the dam into the creek. And if u look far out appx 1 o clock 500m..u may even see a giraffe as the zoo is next door. Great place for a picnic too.

Worth a stop for 15-20 mins if the weather's dry, to take in the scenery and see how the Scrivener Dam works. Close to the Zoo and the Arboretum so doing a trip to either of those from the City, will bring you here.

Handy lookout spot at the Spillway. Parking available and something to do and see close to Govt House Lookout and Arboretum. Water flowing the day we went, lots of recent rain in Canberra

Love coming here after a big rain. The water is memorising. You also sometimes can see giraffes over at the zoo.

One of the best place to relax and have some quality time. You will find it more beautiful during sunset time.

Got to see Giraffes in the distant zoo while the sound of gushing water was being pumped out of the dam. Not a bad mornings walk

Great lookout and picnic area to either drive, ride or walk too. Was fun reading up on the history of the dam and looking across the river at the zoo.

Love a good spray of the Dam! One of Canberra’s cheapest tourist attractions and just kinda relaxing watching the water spill over when the lake fills up. Simple pleasures.

Really great lookout!
But put some sunscreen... nowhere you can find a spot with shade.

Good place to go after lots of rain. lots of people hace the same idea though. Can spot an animal or two at the zoo if you look carefully, as well as you can hear the animals too. nice to have a quick stop off here if you have the time on your way home. not wheelchair friendly up the stairs though.

The overflow from the floods was controlled but exceptional to watch.

If you haven't stopped here before you really should stop for a minute. Also a nice picnic area. Bicycle path right alongside it in case you choose to ride here - scenic bike path no matter where you ride from.

What a sight! It is really something to see 8500 cubic meters going down the dam sluice
