The challenge was accepted, the journey to find the elusive Koala Rock had begun.
Leaving Coles Bay the two intrepid travelers from the big island had to tend with many a detour and distraction along the way. All was almost lost when stopping for sustenance in St Helen as the tide had already begun to turn.
A last push was on, and the final 22kms of this pilgrimage made.
As the tide once again begun to reclaim this great mystery we came apon its magnificence in all its glory.
Triumphant in our quest.
A journey to be remembered for all time

Koala Rock in Tasmania is a hilarious tourist attraction that simply cannot be missed. It's just a natural rock formation that remarkably resembles a koala. The fact that, apparently, it's not man-made adds to its charm. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.

Great place to swim and good place to rest. Visited at high tide so poor thing (Koala) was being waterboarded and not fully visible

Absolutely hands down the best koala shaped rock you'll ever see. My wife and I were honoured to bear witness to the sheer awesomeness that is Koala Rock. We placed our offerings of gum leaves at the altar, finished our worship and prayers to the Koala deity and went on our way. Will definitely come back!

Take a moment to explore Tasmania’s best-kept secret, the “Koala Rock”.
This isn’t merely a rock; it’s the ultimate epitome of Koala-like formations, unparalleled and unrivaled in its resemblance anywhere else in our vast universe. You’re not just looking at a rock, you’re witnessing a natural masterpiece lovingly sculpted by Mother Nature herself, a testament to her creativity and ingenuity.
Be prepared, for nothing in your life will ever be the same after laying your eyes on this marvel.
I wholeheartedly award it an 5 Stars - yet five doesn’t begin to cover the splendor of this extraordinary spectacle.
Be sure to visit on low tide….

Is it a koala? Is it a rock? *Gasp*
Maybe it's both!

Nice to have seen it in real life. It is indeed a small stone, look carefully because there is no indication anywhere where you can find the stone. Too bad there is a boat in the way for a nice photo

It looks more like a Koala from the eastern end by a rock that looks somewhat like a sad whale. Nice sheltered spot from the wind

Hell of a drive that didn’t provide much more than all the other stops along the coast….would we have visited had we known? Not really.
