Port Hughes Boat Ramp

new ramp has 5 of the 6 ramps working, will be better when they get all 6 functional and make sure the channel is deeper, coming in at dead low, boats getting stuck on the sand bar. I updated this on 10/04/22. The new ramp is fully functional and gets busy at peak times. It certainly is a massive improvement. The launch and retrieve area is steeper now so I often put the Landy into 4wd to pull the boat without drama. Most of the time it is an excellent facility, but there are always a few people who create drama through poor behaviour or inexperience. Very popular boat launch area and getting harder to get a feed, you gotta really know the area.

Great ramp, gets a bit crowded on weekends and holidays. Suggest an area dedicated to retrieval of boats.

Great ramp with good facilities, but it gets badly silted up and is extremely shallow at low tide it's very busy during good weather and holidays

Plenty of parking, cheap rates, jetty, shop and tavern and adjacent the Port Hughes Tourist Park. Four ramps make quick and easy access for boats of all sizes

In great shape and well worth launching you boat there. There is a parking fee for boat trailers in the carpark

The ticket machine was broken down again!!. Very popular place with 91 boats mid morning which is quite a few on these cold mornings

It is ok ,place gets a build up of sand at the entrance and makes it hard for launching
