Amazing service. You can interact with the farm animals, go and watch their cow get milked and meet the potty calf. The rooms are very beautiful and large enough to room 6 people. If you have a barbecue you might even get to meet the owners dog.

This place is brilliant. The beds are warm and comfortable and the wood heater gives it a cosy atmosphere at night. And i fell in love with display wall "Tasmanian Timbers". Everything about this place is beautiful and I cannot possibly tell you everything I love about this place

My family, some friends and I spent a couple of nights at the Rustic Hut last week and had the most amazing stay – it was one of the absolute highlights of our three week trip to Tasmania (a trip that was filled with many highlights!). We have wanted to do a farm stay with our kids for ages and the Rustic Hut was just perfect! Our kids got to milk cows and learnt how to separate milk from cream and churn cream into butter, we had a very interesting tour of the farm and helped feed the animals and collect the eggs etc. The huts we stayed in were so beautifully designed and incredibly cosy and inviting, with a gorgeous open fireplace and incredible views over the most beautiful mountains and valleys. Tania and Phil were lovely, welcoming hosts and we are really looking forward to returning to the Rustic Hut in the not-too-distant future. Highly recommended!!

We stayed two nights inApril 2019 with our boys aged 2 and 4. It was fantastic!! Beautiful farm, cosy cabins (with all the essentials) and very generous hosts. Our kids loved seeing how the milk and butter was made and visiting all the animals. Thankyou Phil and Tanya - our farmstay experience was everything we hoped it would be, and more!

Spectacular surrounds, well presented cabin, very peaceful. If we could rate it more than 5 stars we certainly would. Highly recommended, will be back to stay again soon.

If you're looking for a beautiful getaway in a nice farm surrounded by nature, rustic but bush retreat is the perfect stay for you. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, from the peaceful walks surrounding the farm, to the cosy cabin and the fun farm activities (such as making butter from freshly milked cows), the experience at the rustic but bush retreat was extremely memorable. One of the greatest highlights was the large bay window in our hut that allowed us to view a sky full of stars from the comfort of our room. There's even a small tunnel from the remains of an old mine that apparently has glowworms in it. Although we didn't have a chance to go down in the night to see them, we heard that they can be seen all year round. Tania and her family were very warm and hospitable and it was lovely getting to know them. They even provided free tasty bread, butter, juice, jam and milk when we first arrived! The scones homemade by Tania were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended farmstay worth every cent.

Highly recommend this experience. Tarni and Phil are amazing hosts. So much to do or just relax and enjoy the fresh country air. Loved our stay. Will definitely be back.

We only stayed one night during a quick trip to Tasmania. Would have loved to stay longer. Our kids will never forget the experience. The farm stay was what we had dreamed and more.

We stayed at The Rustic Hut for two nights and can highly recommend it. Tania and Phil have put so much love into every detail of the accomodation and overall experience. The huts are superb.

Highly recommend this sweet place for more than 2 nights if you have children! It was the first time my 5 years old said ‘I want to stay here forever- I’ll clean the house every morning!’
The farm stay is only 7-10 min drive to the nearest supermarkets in Penguin.
The huts are full of details and the beds are comfy! The fridge was full of fresh homemade food for breakfast! The lovely and generous hosts spent their morning with us all! We all got to learn about their farm, made butter, fed the animals! My mom was particularly excited to see the raspberry bush and the produce!
My kids enjoyed managed to bring their homemade butter all the way home in Singapore!

The Rustic Hut Farmstay highly recommend a night or two here! The kids will love it .... you feed the animals, feed the chooks collect the eggs, ride in the trailer & feed out the hay to the cows, check out the piggies!
In the morning after a magnificent breakfast of home made everything, you hand milk the cow! Seperate the milk from the cream, then turn the cream into butter! Then morning tea is served, it’s the best home made scones jam & cream to die for with a cup of your fav hot drink!
Tania & Farmer Phil are an absolute delightful couple! The hardest working couple I know! I left exhausted knowing all they do each day!
The Rustic Hut is absolute credit to them!
