Patrick White Lawns

Nice place, good to roll out the picnic rug next to the lake. Trees for shade and nice grass make it even more pleasant. Also a good alternative to Regatta Point for fireworks viewing.

Openair cinema during summer is brilliant! Enjoyed a romantic Valentine's Day evening here getting spoilt with delicious food and watching a great movie under the stars. Chairs were comfy, we got complimentary pillows and blankets with free drinks, popcorn and ice creams. Before the movie enjoyed lovely live music. Relaxing near the lake and watching the sun slowly set while snuggling your loved one was something so special and ill remember forever.
Staff were kind and helpful. Lots of great parking nearby. Beautiful spot here next to the lake 💗

The place is next to the National Library. Great place to take your dogs for an outing. Brutus and I were there to participate in the RSPCA million paws walk.

Open lawned area great for balloon festival

We went there for the Enlighten Balloon Spectacular, so lots of people.

Canberra balloon festival. Always an amazing event.

Putting hot air to good use at Patrick White Lawns.

It’s such a lovely green space next to the lake. Once it was a car park, but now it has room for theatre, balloons and who knows what else. The events I’ve been there for have been superbly run and there is parking very close by.

Great place to visit with family. Serene and peaceful environment alongside the lake. You can get free parking after 5 PM and on public holidays in nearby library parking. Recommended picnic spot for a day out with family. Can go by yourself on bike as well and relax.

Balloon spectacular was amazing

Beautiful lawns facing onto the lake with great views of the basin, national library, national gallery, the high court and a number of other Canberra icons.

Good place to go have a picnic, though there's very little shade.

Was amazing the air hot ballon festival!

Great location. They hold Ben & Jerry's open air cinema here each year which is a great spot as the sun is winding down the colours of the sunset look incredible from Patrick White lawns.

Came here for the outdoor cinema and it was beautiful. Very clean, open and inviting.
Very beautiful during dusk and so much room for the kids to run around and play.

Nice place for public events

This is the best place to watch the Australia Day fireworks. Make sure you turn up early, and be prepared with cash, and a little patience for the sausage sandwiches :)
