Lovely store, clean and tidy.

The shop floor was nice, staff friendly but the colour and lighting of the changerooms is horrendous. It actually stops me buying anything because you look terrible when you try something on.

The staff member did her job, but she did it with attitude and without any attempt to build customer rapport or engage me outside of processing the refund. When I approached the counter, she stared at me and looked me up and down before servicing another customer without acknowledging my presence.

My partner has often said the staff here are rude, hence why she buys online and only enters the midland store when she has to return something.

No service, not friendly. Just basic 'Hello' and 'How did you go?'. Shoved the top I purchased in a bag and handed it to me without a smile or a 'Have a great day'.

Went in this morning to Portmans in Midland to exchange the size of x2 ladies tops I purchased last week as both were too big. Identical but different colours. I was granted a refund on one but not the other. This was due to there being no replacement size in store. The rationale for not being able to refund the other was due to the tag being missing which I inadvertently threw in the bin when I put it on at home. The other one with the tag still intact I did not even try on as I could clearly see the sleeves slipped off the shoulders far too readily. Now I had the receipt with the item clearly listed on it. So I had to walk away with the item which I won’t wear because it is too big. When did having the receipt with clear proof of purchase not be enough????? And to boot the customer representative didn’t smile once and would clearly benefit from some upskilling in customer relations. Not happy. Will any portmans store honour this exchange at all?

Very poor customer service from the lady there today 23rd July 2022 at 4pm. It is a shame because of good products. I hope management gets onto this.
