I attended the Petrie Dental Centre today as a new patient. It was a totally A1 experience. Everyone on the team is so welcoming and friendly, right through from Amanda on front desk reception, Kerry the Dental Assistant and Dr Shayan, the Dentist who consulted with me. He is an amazingly gentle clinician, and took the time to fully explain his assessment of my future dental treatment. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, and I could imagine anyone who has a dentist phobia being put at ease. I can highly recommend this dental practice.

A great family dentist where everyone is friendly and professional. The hygienists are well trained, gentle, and do a thorough job and Paul is a great dentist with the ability to make you feel comfortable and calm. If you normally have a fear of dentists, this one is a great one to go to.

We have been using Paul's dental practice for 15 years, during which time we've introduced him to both of our children's families (one family lived interstate, one family is often overseas) and both of them continue to see Paul whenever they are in Brisbane - sometimes even coming home especially for that purpose. He is a gentle, caring person, well-liked by his staff (a good indication), uses all the latest up-to-date equipment and techniques but doesn't lose sight of the individual patient's needs, very competitive in his pricing and always cheerful, even during the stress of a disastrous sale and re-purchase process. We thoroughly recommend him to anyone seeking dental attention - especially those who have previously had unpleasant experiences in a dentist's chair

As always, I was very pleased with my recent visit to the Petrie Dental Center for a check up and clean. All the staff were very warm and welcoming. A special thanks to Shayan and his assistant (sorry didn’t catch the name) who made me feel very calm and comfortable 😊

Amanda and the whole team are wonderful and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Dr Shayan Ghanavi is brilliant with our two kids and I would recommend him highly. Dr Shayan takes the time to explain things and has a warm, gentle approach.

I cannot recommend this dentist, in particular Shayan, more highly. The care and attention is excellent and as a Bupa member, the pricing is also good. Very professional and very personal.

My family have been using this dental practice for nearly 7 yrs now. It used to be great. However the practice has recently has experienced a lot of instability. The business was sold and at one stage there must have been a dispute over ownership as there was two busnisess opperating from the one building.

The ownership issues have now been sorted and the practice is back to being called petrie family dental.

This has not improved things though.

Since the change in ownership their prices have sky rocketed. Dispite having private health care I still have to pay $70 in gap fees just for a check up.

Another problem is their recent decsion to make all patients see their dental hygienist for cleaning (instead of just having the dentist do the clean which is what normally happens).

I visited this 'hygienist' and wholly hell I am now sore. This women was a butcher. She was sooo rough, both my wife and I were left with torn bloody gums and very saw jaws. We both had to take panadol when we got home.

All that was required was a simple clean, yet this women proceed to rip and tear at every tooth saying we had deep build up. She used so much force that her hand was shaking and she had to stop and have a break. in 30+ years of going to the dentist I have nver had such a horrible and painfull experience ( I think getting a root canal or having a tooth pulled would have been more comfortable). I really question thus womens qualifications if this is the way she is going to carry on.

This used to be such a good dentist and was very convenient for us. Its such a shame their administration has resulted in a decline in the quality of their service.

I will be taking my business elsewhere, I surguest you do as well.
