Barramunchies

First time back to Weipa in a long time and locals told me of "Barramunchies" located at Weipa Caravan Park. Best fish and chips in town they said! I checked it out as you can see and they were right! Great food and great service. Location is awesome as well, right on waterfront.

Updated - 31/07/2021 - Visited here again after a long time, place was buzzing... great food and great location, food quality was excellent, thought the price for the fish was a little steep, especially for the size, coral trout in my latest pic, and five prawns. It was cooked perfectly and very nice...%53 bucks though, which included tin of soft drink....

The kids that run this place do such an amazing job. An amazing selection of burgers and fish and chips style food in a dreamy location. Open from 5pm so perfect to take the kids for a play while you wait for your food! Love it!

Great place to have dinner by the river enjoying sunset. Super Family friendly with the Nice play area and huge space to run around for the kids.

What an amazing place to eat while watching the sunset. Atmosphere, Staff and Location 100%.
Ate there twice back in July when we spent 10 days visiting family in Weipa.100% recommend to anyone travelling to the area to stop in have an awesome meal over looking the water. The caravan park is also tidy and very well looked after.

Delicious fish, chips cooked perfectly...can understand why, but its a shame it closes for the wet season. Great location in the caravan park

Good presentation needs a little work in the kitchen. Too many young people need another older person with cooking and the orders would not take as long.

Good burger, nothing great. For $23 and a 70-minute wait, eat at home. We were told of the wait after we had paid 😢

First time here. Spent $280+ worth of food. Sat down to eat almost got eaten alive by mosquito's. No water available.
Waited a long time for our order only to have the lights turned off @ 8:40pm while we were still eating. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Definitely not going back there. would not recommend to anyone

This is the most expensive and worst fish I have ever eaten. Sent it back and the replacement was as bad. Imported farmed supposedly barramundi. The batter was crunchy but very oily. Do not waste your money.

$15 for the smallest piece of fish Ive ever purchased, twice now.
