Finally had the chance to try this place. We decided to stick to the Hungarian 🇭🇺 menu and we were not disappointed at all. Very tasty food - definite highlights were the Dill- Sztrapacska with beef goulash, pickled cucumber salad, garlic bread langosh and the smoked kransky.

The food, the paintings and the service is absolutely out worldly. To be clear, this is not a fusion restaurant and has a separate menu for the Indian and Hungarian cuisines. My favourite was most definitely the Authentic Hungarian Garlic bread, which is probably the best garlic bread I have ever had. The Amritsary fish was delicate and perfectly cooked, not too spicy, just like I prefer. The Slow cooked Beef Goulash was also fantastic. I recommend the one with Red wine. Finally, the Rabri was delicious too.

This is one of the most special places to eat in Melbourne. Great prices, great people and amazing food. You can tell that a lot of love went into making this food, and both the Indian and Hungarian sides are fantastic. Miss out at your own peril!

Hands down the best Indian and Hungarian restaurant I've ever been to. The individual cuisines have no business being cooked as well as they are in this place catering to both. I don't know what the story behind the pairing of the two here is, but they cook both incredibly.

Very unique vibe inside, very tasty food, would recommend. Highlight menu items were the chaat, langosh and pickle salad. It was surprising how well the two cuisines worked together.

We came here first for the novelty of the two cuisines but now we’re devoted regulars. The service is incredible, the decor cheery and the food delicious (love the comedy in the menu too). If you’ve driven past wondering… pop in and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Make sure to nab the front table for great people watching along Queens Parade.

I love this restaurant! Amazing food and we keep coming back. Definitely try the tawa beef and goulash with red wine. The service is also very nice and the atmosphere is so cozy. A must try!

Rather eclectic, but love it. The Hungarian menu is worth reading, even if you are planning on getting Indian.
The Monday dinner special is great value.

How does one rate something they've not eaten before? Was thinking maybe 4 stars but then I heard how cheap the beers are if you dine-in, so that easily knocks it over the line. Got sztrapacska. It's really good. Very rich. You need pickles or olives on the side for relief it's that rich. The bacon in it is amazing. So salty. Looking forward to trying more.

The food was amazing, the service quick and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. One of the chefs from The Hungarian (Richmond, closed in 2015) owns this restaurant hence the Indian menu and Hungarian menu. Can't wait to go back and try the Indian menu.

An unusual and exciting combination indeed, I had passed this restaurant countless times before finally deciding to try it, only to wonder why I hadn't done so sooner! Like other reviewers have said, this is not a fusion restaurant, but rather one offering two distinct menus, both as delicious as one another. I normally order two dishes for each course -- one from each cuisine -- and the portions and flavour never disappoint. The service is always attentive, and the décor is wonderfully homely -- special credit to their efforts with the Christmas lights! There are simply too many good dishes to list individually, but special mentions are due for the Amritsari fish appetiser, and the Sztrapacska (available in both appetiser and main sizes), and the mango lassi. Although already reasonably priced, dine on Mondays and Tuesdays to enjoy a selection of favourite main courses from each cuisine for only $15.50.

Firstly the people are amazingly friendly, kind and thoughtful 😊
The food is to die for, everything is hand made ! I have been eating at Diamond for 2 years and I have eaten both Hungarian & Indian food and they never disappoint 😊 please when you come here try the goulash, vindaloo & schnitzel just amazing!! P.S the pickled cucumber is one of my favourite side dishes.
Very family friendly and one of the best restaurants I have been too.

Had some of the Hungarian dishes. The Langos is amazing and reminds me of home. While it’s not a popular cuisine in Australia, give it a go! I have no doubt you will like it!
