Great spot for a cheap lunch. Every meal I've had at this place has been really nice.

Look its fine for the price ($2.50 for a roll) so I'm not complaining... but its not that high quality. Fast service, so if you are in a hurry scoot by but its not the kind of place you'd go for a lingering lunch (they do have indoor and outdoor seating).

Their mixed boxes at the start of the day are really tasty. Don't get end of day sushi here. Had a bad avocado one today. I guess that's a rule with any sushi but this place seems to close up late afternoon.

The Katsudon was overcooked and salty. The rice was too dry.

If I could rate this store less than 1 star, I would!
My colleagues and I ordered lunch today from this store (2 Bento boxes & 1 vegetarian rice with some tempura vegetables).
Firstly, the vegetarian rice wasn't quite vegetarian and was comprised of half cooked chicken and frozen prawns. The rice was very gluggy and had almost formed a paste. My colleagues on the other hand had uncooked white rice, old tempura (just batter - not vegetables in batter) and a cold mystery meat!
My colleagues couldn't be bothered going back as they didn’t have time but as I don't eat meat, I rang and requested a replacement or refund. A young male member of staff advised that it was a new chef and he had only been there 2 days and then *silence* no apology, nothing. I then requested a refund and he advised again that the chef was only new and *silence*. So what?!!! I advised that I was coming to get a refund and then the young boy commenced speaking in another language to another female staff member who then started screaming in another language. The young boy then came back to me and said that my colleague didn't ask for vegetarian (which she did because I was on the phone with her, she read out the menu and then ordered for me)
I advised again that I'm coming to get a refund for the wrong rice and old leather tasting tempura and made my way to the store with the items. This woman proceeded to argue through the boy who had to act as a translator. She begrudgingly opened the till and slammed the money down for the rice but didn’t want to refund the old tempura non-vegetable, I had to pull it apart to show them! This store was pretty gross and staff unpleasant.

The only reedming aspect was the complementary miso soup (which, to be honest, was probably just instant anyway). I had Bento box B and it was awful. I could only eat the pork, the rest of the meal was critically bad. The rice came with a sickly sweet sauce that made it inedible, the sushi had some kind of seafood mush in the center and the chicken looked like it had been sitting there for hours. DEFINITELY would not recommend.

Don't bother - dry rice, fish not fresh, limited choice, overpriced for what it is. There is so many better places in Melbourne.
