Went here today as a walk in. Extremely friendly to begin with with a beer and hair wash on arrival. What made this was my haircut with Robbie. Actually listened and gave an opinion he thought would work and I absolutely loved it. Also the fact he was an absolute gent with just the right amount of talking and silence, exactly what you want from your barber. Have gained a new customer here and will make it my mission to go back to Robbie specifically. Keep up the good work, cheers 🇮🇪

Great service! The team are always friendly and welcoming. Dan is exceptionally skilled and provides a great haircut with precision. He always makes sure haircut is on point and provides expert styling advice. I definitely recommend Kings Domain and Dan for your next haircut. Looking forward to my next visit.

Amazing staff and barber...Came is 10mins earlier than my booking and immediately accommodated. Josh did my haircut today and I am very happy with the result. I do not have many instructions and I only said I wanted it short using #3....He nailed it. Thank you. See you again in a few months.

I don’t tend to leave reviews but I’m a very happy KD customer for a while now. The team is always affable, always on time, and Dan is one of few barbers to have understood my aesthetic and been able to confidently and attentively style my hair. He’s quiet and unassuming and very polite but ought to be charging as a senior barber as he’s quite excellent. Thanks team and keep it up.

Managed to try for a third time and the service provided by Jason was just not a comparison to previous experiences.

From the hair wash right through to the end of the hair cut, he’s always makes sure that I was comfortable by:

- asking consistently whether the water temperature is right for me
- asking consistently to close my eyes whenever he was cutting towards the area where hair could fall
- asking consistently about the temperature of the hair dryer when blowing my hair
- asking consistently whether the way he was cutting with the hair clippers was causing any pain
- able to offer suggestions and his professional opinion which I personally find valuable
- openly asks me to give him feedback on what I think works or doesn’t work

This experience alone showed me a few things:

- the great attention to detail he applies to his craft
- his passion and duty of care to the customer is absolute
- his wealth of knowledge and experience, shown through his confidence
- a singular, seamless and comfortable experience right from entering the store, the hair wash, the hair cut and through to leaving the store

I’d have given 4 stars as my initial review for the first time I had my hair cut with Hosu - opted for the 45 min session that started off with a mediocre hair wash (some water splashing in ears) followed by a cut from Hosu who seemed to understand what I wanted and cut my hair to a satisfactory level at least for the first time meeting which I would only hope to improve over time.

However, during my second time (30 minute session as Hosu suggested during the first time) having a hair cut with Hosu (15/8/2023), what I thought couldn’t get worst just got worst. My appointment at 12pm she ran late by 10mins, my hair was washed as soon as I got in to quite a dismal level from someone who has only worked for 2 months and a lot more water entering my ears - what was worst was having to wait for 10mins with wet hair before I could have my hair cut and having to ask for a towel to wipe thoroughly as it was still dripping. On the haircut, it was good but I’d say not as good as the first time especially when I had specifically asked for the length of hair at the front of my face to be cut short enough such that it didn’t cover my eyes but also had enough length - this was not the case at all. The blend and short fade that I had asked for wasn’t also as good previous, to which partner also noticed and pointed out.

For an organisation like King’s Domain, I’d have expected the quality and brand to speak for itself and stand out from the surrounding local hair salons / barbers - but this has not met my expectations to date having experienced a much higher quality cut in Sydney.

Unfortunately, I’ve moved down to Melbourne for good now and will give King’s Domain one more try before I finalise my rating and most likely continue in my journey to find a place where I can rely on having a consistent and high quality hair cut.

Will edit this further to outline my third and potentially final session here over the next few months.

I’ve been getting haircuts from Jordan, the principal barber at Kings Domain and am really happy with the service. The barbershop is at a convenient location in the CBD and easily accessible by tram.

I planned to get my cut and beard trim from my barber in Hong Kong before going to AUS but ended up not going. I looked up Kings Domain in MEL and scheduled with Evan T. He did an excellent job! Wow! I will go back when in town. Great location, staff and feel. Thank you Evan!

I walked in off the street and had an appointment approximately 1 hour later. Greg did a great job.

First time here, landed a new job in the city and was looking for a good barber I could go to, found this place, amazing fade done by Ferg, he was meticulous with my hair and understood exactly what I wanted. I have a flat head like most asians do, he definitely knows what he’s doing. If you want a fade, you can’t go wrong coming here and seeing Ferg.

Recently I visited Kings Domain Barbour Shop on Collins Street and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the shop had a great atmosphere. The barber who cut my hair was very skilled and took the time to listen to what I wanted, and I was really happy with the end result. The prices were reasonable and I felt like I got great value for my money. I would definitely recommend Kings Domain Barbour Shop to anyone looking for a great haircut
