I stopped by for breakfast since I had been travelling in Australia for some time and started to miss Asian food. I tried Kolo Mee for the first time in my life and it’s soooo delicious. The taste is so amazing that I wish I could have it everyday. The portion is very generous too. And they have a great variations of sweet treats. I picked rocky road and white choc tim tam slice, both are chewy, not too sweet and perfect in size. I would definitely visit again next time I’m back in Melbourne. Thank you so much for the good meal :)

Sawarak Laksa very authentic, and a good balance of savoury, sour and sweet. Very tasty, though portion on the smaller side.

Beef rendang absolutely delicious, and well balanced with all the sides given. Shoutout to the fried peanuts + pickled vegetables and salad w sesame dressing, really balanced the dish well with some freshness/sweetness/tartness to cut through the heaviness. Sambal was very tasty too - had the umami flavour of the sea.

Thai milk tea was strong and not too sweet! Recommend.

Location a bit difficult to find, inside the middle of a corporate building. Uncle David was very friendly, and had a nice chat about the restaurant. Will be back :)

Such a gem of traditional Malaysian crusine in the CBD area for the best kolo mee. They uses wontan mee in the dish with a bit of pork mines, char siu and fish cake. The sauce is just perfect for the mee. Taste really good. The portion also perfect for one person. Their chicken rendang also really good. Chicken is melt in the mouth and super tasty. They also served with an egg and some salad, makes it really fresh to eat. Their teh tarik also have tea and milk flavour and not too sweet. This café is hidden inside the common area next to hotel. Not easy to find. But follow the sign in front at little Collins st, you will find it. Staff are very friendly. They have few small tables for dine it. They also have some western food and snacks. Plenty of car parking nearby. Very accessible from public transport, just 2 block from Southern cross station and tram stop nearby. Will certainly come back for laksa and sambal.

I rarely go to this part of the cbd but I am glad that I did last week.

We ordered the kolo mee and the nasi lemak chicken and they were so good!

Uncle David really cooked from the heart and I could feel it when I had the dishes!

The dishes were full of flavour but looked simple at the same time.

David was also very friendly and we had a quick chat too.

Really happy that I find this gem!

Absolutely amazing place to go!
Good coffee and breakfast foods, and if you're feeling a bit adventurous, why not try out their speciality Malaysian dishes , cooked by uncle David himself!

I had the beef rendang and the sarawak laksaa, both were incredibly tasty, 10/10 would return!

One of my go-to Malaysian food spots when I’m visiting Melbs from overseas. Their sarawakian laksa is a must-have every time (also try their kolo mee) It’s slightly different than the laksa I’m used to, with less coconut milk but more aromatics/herbs. They also make a mean coffee 😍 Best of all are the owners, Uncle David and his family, who make you feel at home every time you step in.

Delicious fairly authentic mains but best kiuh I’ve had in a very long time. We’ll balanced, not too sweet and good layers. Will definitely come back for more kiuh!

Run. Don't walk to Uncle David's Cafe if you're looking for amazing Malaysian food in Melbourne.

The Kolo Mee is a must, I don't think i've tried anything else because I keep ordering the same thing.

Love seeing a successful family run business in the middle of the city. They do food better than a lot of major restaurants.

Always incredibly fresh and delicious! The servings are generous and have the perfect sauce to rice ratio. I love everything on the menu, but the dishes served with the fried wonton skins are stunning.

Uncle David, Aunty Silvia and Robyn are very hospitable. They served up quality and delicious Sarawak Laksa along with favourite teh tarik. Coffee was great as well. Little cosy corner in the city worth visiting for both their food and services.

We had the laksa and chicken rendang today. The laksa has very flavourful, strong spices, very delicious! The rendang chicken is tender, the sambal complements the dish beautifully.
The atmosphere is warm and very friendly.

Definitely head in for their Sarawak laksa, with the sambal. It may be a little hard to locate but walk into the building and you will smell the awesomeness wafting through. Can’t wait to go back and try the other food on the menu.

Came here for a takeaway breakfast - bacon and egg muffin – it was delicious and very reasonably priced. The service was delightful, very attentive and quick. Clearly this is a family run business with service values. Will definitely be coming back - highly recommend!

Bumped into this little gem during lunch today, have heard of it but never been. Had the Sarawak laksa and absolutely demolished it, added extra prawns which were fresh and juicy. I'll definitely be coming back to try some of the other goodies on the menu.
