Dr. Stephen Cole

I found Dr Stephen on a Google review and a bit of instinct that he’d be a wonderful doctor, so thought it best to add my own. We had a sensational experience with Dr Cole and his team - nothing was ever a problem and CJ, Anisha & Eliza were easy, gorgeous people to deal with. Dr Cole is calm, caring and has an absolute talent for explaining things in a logical, sensible and calm way. This was particularly important to me as I was a highly anxious patient as previously, under care of another (terrible) OB I had a stillbirth followed by three miscarriages. Coming from Bendigo for appointments, I wanted the best OB in Melbourne with excellent experience and qualifications, and Dr Cole lived up to our expectations. Our baby boy was on the smaller side throughout pregnancy and Dr Cole was extremely thorough in making sure he kept a close eye on things. Due to the epidural not quite agreeing with our little boy, I had an emergency c-section and we are so grateful to Dr Cole and the Epworth team who made it a happy, fun experience with plenty of laughs as Charlie arrived - we felt very well supported and cared for from the outset. We will always remember Dr Cole singing the Carlton theme song as he pulled our baby out.
The follow up care was also very good from Dr Cole and his warm and caring midwives Wendy and Linsey who are beautiful women. If you have had a bumpy conception journey like me, then I highly recommend Dr Cole for an outstanding pregnancy care experience - I actually cried after my last appointment as I felt so supported through the whole journey.

Exceptional Dr, caring kind and knowledgeable through delivery of our two children. Stephen always makes us feel welcome and cared for, not just my wife but us as a couple.

Dr Cole delivered both of our children. He is knowledgeable, empathetic and just an all round perfect Dr. I'd recommend him to anyone planning for pregnancy or expecting.

We were recommended to Dr Cole by our fertility specialist. After a long and heartbreaking journey to finally hold a pregnancy we had the most wonderful experience with Dr Cole. I knew I was in great hands from our very first appointment. Dr Cole is extremely compassionate and caring which is exactly what I needed. I elected to have a c- section - everything went smoothly and we now have our beautiful daughter. Dr Cole also has two lovely nurses ( Lindsay and Charlotte) who were exceptional.

Dr Coles care and service is next to none! He helped me deliver my Baby Girl 2 months ago, and I'm grateful it was him as my doctor. He was always calm and reassuring during our consultations all the way to the end.

A big thank you also goes to the midwives apart of the practice, Charlotte and Linsey, they are phenomenal. They answered all my queries and concerns throughout the pregnancy and were key to my recovery and breastfeeding journey postpartum.

As we reflect on our pregnancy and delivery journey with Dr. Stephen Cole as our Ob-Gyn, I realise how fortunate we were to be referred to him. He spent a good amount of time with us during each appointment and patiently answered all our questions (some were so repetitive). I have health anxiety and sometimes came up with bizarre imaginary scenarios, asking him “what if something went wrong like that…” but his knowledge about those situations and overall is highly impressive and his style of choosing the right words to communicate really helped me manage my anxiety and brought me back on track. This is why he is a topmost doctor. Finally, he helped us bring our miracle to the world and we have so much gratitude in our hearts for him. I only wish we had met him sooner, maybe under his guidance and consultation, we would’ve had a smoother journey than we had before.

I remember one time when I rushed to the clinic because of a scare and I was crying while waiting to be seen. Eliza and CJ at the reception both calmed me down and in fact, they were crying too! They’re such beautiful, lovely humans and I thank them for booking my scan appointments and also accommodating me with any urgent appointments when needed. I would thoroughly enjoy chatting with them and they would bring an instant smile on our faces.

Last but NOT the least, I can’t thank Linsey, Wendy and Olivia enough. At every midwife consultation appointment with Linsey, she took great care of me and had my back. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her learning about birthing, breast feeding etc. She would ensure she spent a good amount of time and I never felt that we rushed to finish off any meet ups. Linsey you’re wonderful, we will never be forgetting you.

Wendy also ensured that she would call me back if I had any questions. No matter how tied up she was or how late it got, she would never forget to call me back. It has always been so wonderful catching up with her. She has played a huge role in my pregnancy journey as well.

I sincerely thank Olivia for spending a lot of time with me in teaching me how to express while I was at the hospital and also checking up on me regularly and giving me valuable advice on breastfeeding. Thanks to her, I learnt so much so quickly.

Hands down, Dr. Cole and his team are the best you can find for yourself. We sincerely thank everyone in the team for treating us so well and giving us the best experience possible.

I couldn’t rate Dr. Cole more highly. He is a wonderful obstetrician who is very knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. After unfortunately having two previous miscarriages, I found Dr. Cole who helped and supported me through my third pregnancy. He answered all my many questions and provided reassurance. I went on to have a wonderful pregnancy and birth. Thank you for everything Stephen :)

My wife and I are forever indebted to Dr Cole and his team for our beautiful baby daughter. My wife and I had very unique requirements and phobia's to overcome with both the pregnancy and labour and we can say with a lot of confidence that without the personalised care, support, planning and empathetic manner that Dr Cole and his whole team had, we wouldn't be the proud and happy parents we are today. 5 stars doesn't do justice to the whole team, from the very friendly, welcoming and helpful admin team to the warm, knowledgeable and friendly consulting midwives to Dr Cole himself, they create a very safe, comfortable and informed space to support us through the pregnancy and the labour, at all times being supportive and mindful to our specific needs and requirements.

Words cannot describe what an exceptional doctor and person Steven Cole is, he is such an amazing support throughout pregnancies of all kinds. I feel so thankful that I had him as my doctor for all my babies.

Dr Steve Cole was our obstetrician for the birth of our daughter in May 2018. From start to finish he was absolutely amazing - in addition to being a brilliant doctor, he was kind and compassionate and took the time to explain things and answer all our questions. He is very considered, took no risks and missed nothing - thanks to him our baby was born safe and well. During labour and the birth he was incredible - thanks to him we had a very safe, trauma free birth. He is an absolute expert and it was a huge relief for us to know we were under his care. The staff in his office are absolutely lovely and he has a fantastic midwife who also provides additional care and support during pregnancy and post-birth. We can’t recommend him more highly, would give ten stars if we could.

A paediatrician friend of mine recommended Stephen, said he was one of the best. So so glad I went with him. He is a wonderful caring Doctor. I'm of advanced age but recovered super quickly and barely any c section scar. Highly recommend Stephen.

Seen multiple Obstetricians through out my pregnancies, I generally left appointments feeling they were rushed and impersonal but not with Dr. Stephen Cole he was extremely generous with his time, explained things thoroughly and was accomodating to my wishes, I highly recommend him.
