Fairy Mountain

We just love this place. So ducking great with duck being the feature.

We’ve been lucky enough to be served by the owner and she is just wonderful in service and her passion for taste and great food.

The place is a typical country town Chinese restaurant with nice decor and friendly staff.

We’ve been multiple times and have pretty much ordered the whole menu by now. Our favourites are:
The hot sour soup
Chinese sausage
Shredded duck soup
The duck hot pot
The duck in vegetables
Any combination of the noodles with vegetables and meat of your choice

I definitely recommend here if you’re in the area. Make sure you book on a Saturday as they are hella busy and for good reason.

Excellent food and awesome service - bloke who I'm assuming was the owner was very charismatic and friendly!

Amazing customer service, we ordered the dumplings, sesame prawn, Mongolian lamb, sweet sour pork, deep fried ice cream and lychee’s! Free prawn crackers on the table and he gave us some to take home! The owner taught my partner and I how to fold the napkins after we kept struggling. Lovely restaurant, and would definitely be back again!

Food serviced hot and tasty. If you are looking for other then fish & chips and pizza, this is definitely the place for a good dinner.

New to the area and this was our first time ordering from Fairy Mountain. We had honey chicken, Singapore noodles and chicken cashew and the dishes were delicious! Patty was so lovely to deal with and very accommodating to our somewhat fussy kids. We also received a free fried rice and bag of prawn crackers for spending over a certain amount. What a wonderful experience! We will definitely be eating here again :)

The food is amazing! Top quality ingredients, the service is great, very friendly. The restaurant is always clean, take away generally takes 15 minutes, which is brilliant!!

Delightful delicious tasty food. In comfortable surroundings. The owners are very helpful and polite. No problem too small to help with. Service was outstanding and attentive. We have see this our new place to go on a Friday evening. A great place to wind down.

Monbulk is very fortunate to have many fine eateries. Fairy Mountain provides both great in and out eating experiences.

Had wonderful meal with my family for Fathers Day. Had a mixture of dishes all were excellent, Ken was a great host all in all a very pleasant meal.

One of our favourite places for a girls' night out. Food is beautiful, service is friendly and the venue is gorgeous but relaxed.

Ordered, Chicken Chow Mein, Cantonese Beef, Char keuy Teow, Spicey Tofu, BBQ Pork in Plum Sauce.

Unassumingly excellent Chinese food.

We highly recommend this quaint restaurant nestled in the hills of Mount Dandenong, in Monbulk. The food is to die for, it reminded me of our trips to a Chinese restaurant, when I was a kid. That was always the highlight of every birthday celebration. Tonight, we had the banquet - Option A, the flavours were beautiful. Mouth watering Peking duck and soft shell crab were just a couple of the many dishes we had...and they were outstanding. We will be back and will bring family and friends to this yummy delight in the hills.

Chinese food is really nice best around can be authentic depending on what you order use real chicken in their chicken in batter stuff we drive 20min rather than go local to us.

Honestly we probably either dine in or get take away once per week.
Food is always delicious and generously portioned.

The staff are super friendly and always greet us by name and ask after the other partner by name even when not present which is fantastic.

Have heard good things about Fairy Mountain Chinese, so finally booked in for a family dinner. We enjoyed a number of dishes to share this evening. Food was great and service efficient and friendly.

Much more than a typical suburban Chinese restaurant - great food, good wine and actually a nice place to eat in unlike most you'd expect out here. A little bit pricier but we'll worth it.
