We love Indian and this was the best we have every had the pleasure to eat. Great value meals and the drinks a very fairly priced. Its a must try if you love Indian.

My family and I have been coming to India Gate for over 12 years. A modest family run India restaurant that's a hidden gem. Fantastic food, accompanied by fantastic service. If you're after authentic Indian cuisine made by and run by a family, this place is perfect.

The chef and waitress were very hospitable and welcoming. We ordered the vindaloo with lamb and the tikka masala with chicken. Both were very flavoursome and has the perfect amount of spice. We got a side or rice, roti and aloo paratha. The aloo paratha was a highlight dish. The chef gave us a complementary dessert at the end of our meal which was very kind. Highly recommend dining here and supporting local businesses that have done it hard over the past year.

A friend and I just had chai tea and a sweet....service was very good and food was yummy. We were well looked after

There are two similar restaurants at this site, India Gate is down the stairs on the left ... away from traffic/pedestrian noise.

Best Indian I have had so far, recommend their butter chicken with naan bread So Yummm 😋

Outstanding Indian food - delicious and beautifully presented. We've eaten there many times. A great option in the hills for a "special occasion" dinner.

This was the best Indian anywhere. The food was beautiful and the service was way beyond expectations. We would recommend this place to everyone looking for somewhere to eat out. They go above and beyond. They are the friendliest people you could ever ask to meet.

This is easily our favourite Indian Restaurant to go to for either dining in or getting take away.
The food is exceptional and we always get great service. Highly recommend!

Lovely service and good food. I'm very picky with Indian restaurants (I've been travelling to the northern suburbs to get my Indian fix recently), so I'm very happy to have a good local Indian option. My favourite dish so far is the chicken madras.

If customer service is high on your priority list go to a day spa, if you go to a restaurant you’re going there for the food. The staff here could punch me in the face every time they walked past and I’d still give them 5 stars. Unreal food.

My partner and I ate take away from here last night. We called up prior to ensure they were open as it was a public holiday, they promptly answered and we were assured that their quality of Indian would be good "Excuse my language, bloody good." We were not disappointed the food was delicious, and the price was equivalent to all other Indian restaurants i have purchased from. The high quality of food matched their exemplary customer service . We will definitely be returning. :)

Have always loved India Gate! We have been interstate for quite a while and found it difficult to find better Indian food. Loved coming back to find it is still wonderful. Generous and fresh!

Delicious! Great prices and friendly service in a lovely air conditioned space. The most tasty Indian dishes I've ever had. The menu offers a very large selection of dishes and a whole page of vegetarian choices which is fantastic! Would highly recommend for a nice dinner out in Belgrave.

It's a hidden gem of a place. enjoyed the service and the food quality. Would come here again. Could do with a little refreshing in the decor department but overall great experience! highly recommend.

Me and my family's preferred Indian food for a decade - don't let any technical issues or wait times dissuade you, we've never been let down yet.

Food is great! The curry dishes are very rich and full of spices. Don't be fooled by other reviewers suggesting to go to the other Indian restaurant down the road, unless you are looking for a more westernised experience.

Owner is very friendly and makes you feel welcome.
