We paddled and camped on a 4 day canoe trip on Gunditjmara Country last week.
Bocara (The Lower Glenelg River) in SW Victoria is truly beautiful with stunning limestone cliffs and kilometres of serenity. The campsites were lovely, as well as being well set-up and sheltered from the wind. We saw koalas, wallabies, possums and kangaroos up close, as well as numerous species of birds. Canoe touring is the best way to see this country, as well as slow down and fully appreciate it. A wonderful experience. ❤
A big thankyou to Ali and Paestan Canoe Hire for their support and great service.

We love the Glenelg River for kayaking. It is good for canoeing and boating also. Loads of keen fisher-ppl around, too. Very idyllic, peaceful place. It's totally worth a visit. Good launching spots on either side of the river in Nelson, though one is a little older but friendly for kids or various abilities. If you're heading here, esp with kids, I'd recommend bringing a picnic & snacks as there's not much in town.

Number 1 spot for fishing and camping in the Southwest of Victoria. Awesome sites for tents, campers or caravans next to the mighty Glenelg River. Lots of wild life and great fishing for bream and Mulloway.

A very peaceful and picturesque national park that protects the lower reaches of the Glenelg River. Great camping sites are dotted along the river. Many walks to do both long and short. A great way to explore here is to bring your kayak or canoe and paddle the river. Lots of wildlife to see here.

Stayed at Pritchards site 16 for 4 nights. Stunning location. Also checked out the other campgrounds for our next visit. Great amenities . Well maintained. A beautiful unspoilt spot and hope it remains that way! Big shout out to Simon and the other rangers for a job very well done.
