West End Take away

Have been coming here for around 20yrs on and off now and have never been disappointed. Fish is always delicious fresh and cooked to perfection and chips cooked perfectly to. Tonight I got the Fish and salad box and it's loaded with delicious crisp fresh salad with a perfectly cook piece of battered mackerel. Thanks for the delicious dinner as always.

The best fish and chips in Townsville! Prawn cutlets were exquisite and so fresh. Definitely making my number one choice. Excellent chips too, not too oily. Just perfect!

My partner and I have visited Townsville a few times and have tried many Fish n chip shops and until today hadn't found one even satisfactory.
And this trip I found West End Take away via Google, read the reviews and thought it would be worth the 7km drive to try.

Served by Janelle, we were greeted with a smile, she was so welcoming and friendly.
We ordered a Dinner for 2- 2xBattered Mackerel, 2xCrumbed Prawn Cutlets, 4xCrumbed Calamari and a scoop of chips with a complimentary Homemade Tartare sauce made by Janelle, EVERYTHING was cooked to PERFECTION and TASTED so bloody GOOD🤤

Got the dinner for 2 combo, excellent value for money. Fish was a good size, batter was delicious, and the chips were great. Very friendly staff

Firstly let me start by saying, I was thrown back at the cost of food- due to rising prices and so like I'm used to in Brisbane, I wasn't expecting it to be much food. But I was super wrong. First mistake was ordering an extra full scoop of chips, such a big scoop a family of four couldn't finish it.
The fish - mackerel was super tender, fresh and the batter light and super crunchy, chips were crunchy and fresh and with the right amount of seasoning. Kids seafood meal and a seafood basket were huge as well, Tasty calamari, and whole scallop with roe, and a massive prawn cutlet and battered fish bites - My son was beyond happy

I have lived in Townsville now for 12 years, tried 5 or 6 different fish and chip shops / takeaway shops, and NEVER in those 12 years have my family and I had the best tasting and cooked to perfection fish, and chips always cooked in clean oil and so crunchy and fresh! Never had a home made chicken dimsim in my life until West End Take Away's absolutely mouthwatering one's! My personal favourite go to is their fish or steak, salad and chips plates! Literally every bite is like heaven and the look of their plates are just my gosh, yum !!! I will be having a fish plate tonight for dinner so I'll be sure to upload the photo of their masterpiece meal !! Mustn't forget the terrific friendly service and great prices for the quality of food ! Very happy family of 5 here 😊

The best fish and chips in all of Townsville. I thought the first time maybe I just got lucky so I had to try again and it was just as good! They change their oil very regularly and their fish and chips are not oily at all, crispy, fresh and delicious!

Such friendly service. Fish chips and burgers are top quality. Would not go past this place for fish, chips, burgers and all your other takeaways.
Janelle went out of her way to make burgers etc. even though she was about to close.

I've essentially grown up on fish & chips from this store. Whenever I've tried another fish & chip shop they get something wrong, but this place has always been consistently great! :)

We loved the hamburgers: buns were thin & tasty, wasn't greasy and was just sooo good! Fish cakes were ok...but Chicken kiev balls were sooo yummy and garlic-y! Battered fish was fresh, but perhaps next time I'll ask staff to drain the oil off a bit longer :)

Amazing grilled fish and salad box and crumbed fish sandwich. Salad came with chips, tartare, cracked pepper and lemon. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Best fish n chips I've had in Australia. Chips by the Scoop and the way they a wrapped, As close to NZ fish n chips as you can get. Excellent.

Ordered a hamburger it was very tasty all ingredients were fresh and well put together. The lady who took my order was very friendly.

My favourite place to get fish and chips, although they offer so much more! Perfect, classic takeaway with lovely, friendly employees. Great service, delicious food.
