Don't be put off by the dated look and feel of the venue, the key item is the food, which was outstanding.

Ordered battered and grilled fish and an extra slice of lemon.

I love how they wrapped the grilled fish separately and they gave me a bag of lemon slices.

A ten minute walk back and unpacked. Fish was superb and well battered (not oily). Grilled fish was excellent and the chips perfectly seasoned.

Would definitely recommend and come back again.

We had dinner for 4 (absolutely stuffed too) for only $66 including drinks.
The service was beautiful.

The fish and chips from this shop are delicious! Visited the store on a busy NYE, while I did have to wait a bit longer, to be expected considering the line (if there’s a line, you know it’s good). The fish was amazing and the chips were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the team here.

Food is great, Generous servings, Price is fair. $45.50 I got 3 pieces of fish made to your liking, 6 calamari 1scoop of chips and a 1.25L and that fed a family of 5.

Love the fish and chips here! Extremely large portions and cooked right. Love the crumbed fish. Chicken salt on the chips and they always cook the chips until crispy, never undercooked. Only downside is this place gets super busy and takes a while to get through on the phone (for good reason!) so make sure you order ahead. Staff are friendly and bring your food out to your car. Great location too, we always enjoy our meal on the Strand.

Barra was so big it overhung the burger so they offered to use one piece for 2 burgers and give a discount, or give one piece with the chips.

They are amazing for gf. I'm a celiac that lives in the area and order often. Never had a reaction. The girls are lovely even on the hot days when you could turn the nicest person to a horrible one they are still kind.

This is Australian fish and chips at its best. With really friendly service into the bargain as well. I am so grateful for their gluten free options!

Just a real good old chipper… looks like nothing outside.. but then…Fish delish… chip’s crispy, proper chips. Food always cooked to proper temperature….
Always get your order right. Very nice and friendly staff. Prices are real good.
And those garlic balls… be very careful when you bite into them… that butter is sooo good but squirts up the walls…. Yummy… 😊😊

Awsome food and service and only place that does deep fried Mars Bar right. If u decide to eat out here you'll get great value for what you pay and the staff are friendly and efficient.

The fish burger is a well made traditional style treat.

Unassuming place but absolutely delicious food. My partner is gluten free and they accommodated for them without hesitation, supplying the most delish crumbed gluten free fish and chips. We went back twice in two days!
