We had an absolutely delightful experience at The Long Apron restaurant! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The food was delicious, and the service was truly exceptional.

I mistakenly forgot to mention my dietary restriction regarding raw food due to being in my third trimester of pregnancy. However, the staff handled the situation with utmost professionalism and care. They quickly swapped out my dish without any hassle, ensuring both my safety and satisfaction.

A special shoutout to Michael, our server, whose attentiveness and expertise made our evening truly memorable. Additionally, kudos to the kind lady who effortlessly accommodated our request. Their exceptional service made our dining experience stress-free and enjoyable.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Long Apron and will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and impeccable service!

Impeccable service this is our second visit and it’s time to leave a review. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with with huge smiles and complimentary bubbles before check in. At 4:30 we were offered a complimentary cheese platter then we had dinner! The food is always amazing, we asked lots of question and all were answered with great enthusiasm and response. We are huge food enthusiasts and the chef was happy to share some inside information on the cooking techniques he used. Morning arrives we had a wonderful Breakfast including complimentary fruit and granola with Greek yogurt and berry compote before breakfast was served. Extremely happy and we will definitely be back for more! Thank you to the amazing staff for making my husband’s birthday unforgettable.

Delightful dinner service. We had the tasting menu and it was delicious. Well balanced and just the right amount of food. The maple old-fashioned was also amazing. Service was attentive.

We became a fan of Andrew Birse’s cooking when he worked at Malt Dining many years ago. We have been following him after he left Malt. When I learned he is the new head chef at the Long Apron, I made a booking immediately.

The whole dining experience exceeded my high expectation. Food was amazing, pairing of various vegetables with different protein was genius. I loved every single dish but really liked the chicken tortellini and the duck. The onion broth is phenomenal.

The restaurant decor feels high end and classy. Service was attentive, there were many front house staffs and they were all professional. The wine pairing was good and the wine list is impressive.

In my opinion, it’s worth driving over an hour to Montville for this amazing dinner. Thank you Andrew and his team. I will definitely come back.

What an evening...

We decided that to get the most out of the evening that we would opt in for The Long Apron's tasting menu with wine pairing. Sure it might be a bit expensive, but for good reason.

The food and wine pairing was something out of a gourmet travelling experience. With multiple wines from Australia as well as abroad paired with each dish, for you to really soak in the flavour of the dish, as well as see what an incredible change the wine can go through, depending on what you are eating.

The staff was amazing. Friendly from start to finish, and very knowledgeable about each dish as well as how and why the wine was picked for those dishes. What we do love about theses experiences is that the staff give their honest opinions about what they like the best and why, making for great conversation as the night goes on.

Celebrating a 10 year anniversary was made just as special by the restaurant as they greeted us with an absolutely fantastic champagne to start the evening, and a little treat at the end just to say congratulations. Too kind of them.

Definitely recommend the wine pairing with the tasting menu.

The dining experience at The Long Apron is nothing short of extraordinary. The food creations served here are indeed next-level. While the portions may be smaller, they are remarkably filling, and the flavours are unique. Each dish is a masterpiece of taste and presentation, leaving diners with a lasting impression of culinary excellence.

In addition to the remarkable dinner experience, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that The Long Apron offers an equally impressive breakfast. The breakfast menu presents simple offerings with an innovative twist. Here, I realised you could experience next-level scrambled eggs and granola. The fusion of flavours and attention to detail in these seemingly straightforward dishes was awe-inspiring. It's a testament to the chef's expertise that The Long Apron consistently delivers during dinner and breakfast.

The food at Spicers Clovelly is worth a 2-hour drive for us just for lunch.

Quite simply, perfection.

From the moment we stepped foot on the property we knew this was going to something special. We only live 10 minutes from Spicers Clovelly but we couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. Rachael greeted with us with sincerity and two glasses of bubbles in the garden. She suggested we make our way to the deck overlooking baroon pocket dam to watch the sunset. Alex showed us to chairs by the fire pit (blankets for our knees on the back of the seats) and poured us each a generous glass of wine. He very kindly chauffeured us back to our room where we had a chance to relax and freshen up before dinner. Hannah greeted us at the restaurant door and while we waited for our table she made (and we enjoyed) a couple of perfectly hand crafted cocktails in the sofa. At 7pm Alana told us our table was ready. She look after us for the rest of the night. She was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. She made us feel very comfortable and seemed to know what we wanted before we realised it. Then the food. Oh. My. God. The food. Five star all the way. Well balanced, thoughtful and uncomplicated flavour combinations.

We’ve dined a few Hatted and Michelin Star restaurants over the years and very often the hype outshines the food. I’ve lost count of the amount of disappointing dinners we’ve had where the chefs have used too many ingredients in a dish and the food looks beautiful but ends up being over complicated and nothing shines through. Expensive and gravely disappointing. It all just ends up tasting flat and grey.
This is certainly NOT the case at Spicers Clovelly. From beginning to end. Exquisite. The flavours, and the plating, fresh, bright, and clean. Kudos to the kitchen. One knockout was the sweet potato dessert. I’m still thinking about it. Alana was right. It was incredible.

Our room was perfection. Clean as a whistle, comfortable, and plush. Turndown service with handmade chocolate pralines? Yes please!

We WILL be back, and we will tell friends, family, and strangers on the street how impeccable Spicer Clovelly is.

Well done. Courtney, Alex, Alana, Hannah, and Rachael you are a credit to your organisation. You all deserve immediate pay raises. (As well as the entire kitchen staff of course)

Thank you for making our anniversary so incredible.

Very impressive experience of fine dining and escape from busy/noisy locations. The restaurant decor is charming and classy. Foods are beautiful and tasty. However, the dinner is a bit slow serving, we a bit sleepy while waiting!:)
Kids menu need to be changed to more fun and attractive for “real kids”.

On June 1st we had an intimate post wedding celebration which exceeded our expectations. The service was very good, staff were attentive, the food was of high standard and overall we felt the service was very consistent. The Sonos system was playing our playlist exclusive to our area and mics were ready for speeches. After the meals and speeches as our function concluded the staff advised they had lit the fire pit and had an esky with the most popular drinks of the night along with blankets for guests. All our guests commented on how nice the evening had been. We would recommend the French banquet experience for a group and the private location of the library deck. Thank you Spicers Clovelly for creating a wonderful memory for my husband and I and our families.

Absolutely has to be the best restaurant on the mountain - with a possible exception for the other Spicers property in Maleny.
Each course was delicious, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere delightful.

While staying a couple of nights at Spicers Clovelly Estate we dined at the Long Apron on a couple of occasions.
We want to thank Cindy for making our dining experience very special for us and catering to our needs, fussy buggers :)
Over the two nights, we sampled quite a few dishes on the menu and found the food to be of the highest standard, matched by the service of Cindy.
Highly recommend dining here if in the area.

Everyone is making beef cheek these days and they do have the best i ever had. Rice pudding ice Cream was interesting and surprisingly inspiring. The service was excellent, the place is located in a nice and spacious setting, relaxing classic French decor. By in large, that was an awesome experienced.

Spent my 50th birthday there and it was a great experience! The staff assigned to us was lovely, Allanah. We made it known that it was our first time, so she explained every plate. These lovely people deserves penalty rates if working late hours. They give good service so we will defo going to go back.
Food was divine.. and the complimentary dessert was to die for. Thank you.

A beautiful restaurant with Michelin-worthy food, in a serene and magical setting. We had the three course a la carte menu and it was all divine. I particularly recommend the lamb main, and the black pudding entree.
The only point to improve upon is that the server seemed a little cold and unfriendly. For the price of the dining experience, and the superior menu, it would be marvellous if the service had matched the premium standard set.

We had a 3 course meal from the a la carte menu. Seriously incredible. Better than Spicers Tamarind. Scallops, confit duck, venison and pork alongside desserts like bombe Alaska and chocolate marquis; everything on the menu is utter perfection. Couldn’t have been better. Service was top tier and the food was incredibly memorable. We visited the Long Apron for a special occasion and the staff went above and beyond with little touches to make the night special for us.

This was my first experience dining at this restaurant. We ordered the Degusto Omnivore. The presentation on all the the dishes were very elegant. Each dish was unique and flavoursome. My personal favourite was the the parfait as it's not something that you could make at home or eat elsewhere.

Staff were very professional and helpful. Special mention to Elysse for being so professional and delightful.

Great ambience. Very spacious and relaxing. Highly recommend this place for special occasions.

Absolutely amazing. Among the best (possibly even THE BEST) dining experience I've ever had. The chefs truly know their craft and while you'll pay for it, for a special occasion or a gastronomic adventure like no other, it's well worth it. We had the 5 course degustation; a culinary journey through inspirations taken from the Spicers Clovelly Estate, where the resturant is situated, and its surrounds, showcasing some of the best ingredients the area has to offer. Each course is immaculately plated and presented with the precision of a surgeon, with each component prepared in such a way that highlights the unique qualities it brings to the dish. Each perfectly complements the other components, which when enjoyed together present textures and flavours that are as balanced and complimentary as musical instruments in a symphonic orchestra. I've never had jus made entirely of sugar snap peas before, but when combined with sustainably and ethically sourced veal and a delectable white sauce, it tasted like butterscotch. The wait staff did everything to ensure our experience would be a memorable one and the sommelier, I believe he's one of the best in the country, helped us choose a wine that accentuated the chefs' masterpieces. This is culinary art at it's finest. Thank you Chef Chris and team, Peter, our servers and Spicers Clovelly Estate for such a truly unforgettable dining adventure. Your hats are well deserved.

Spectacular 5 star dinner at this delightful French Provincial styled restaurant at the Spicers Clovelly Estate. We enjoyed superbly served 3 course A’La Carte starting with the soft Crabe Confit and the delicate Tartare of Venison, followed by melt in your mouth Navarin d’Agneau - lamb rump and the Waygu Rôti, both cooked to absolute perfection and finished with the native honey lavender Bavarois and the peach Mille-feuille with each dish carefully paired with a beautiful wine selection. We loved this meal so much that we booked a weekender at the Estate for later in the year - stay tuned for our review then.
