K Smith & Son Jewellers

This is the best jewellery store i have ever come across, run by two extremely kind ladies, i have vintage Patek philippe Calatrava, and due to windning issues the minute hand falls off, pretty much every jewellers rejects to fix it, except the K Smith and Sons, they took full responsibility of the watch by not using the mail service, they personally took the watch themselves to there watch repair to get it fixed, at a very nominal price…. These kind of honest business should get full support from the customers and should run for ever….

Stunning designs, perfect repairs, incredible value for money and creations which are not just absolutely exacting, but creatively exceptional. The Jeweller is truly a master-craftsman, and their selection of pieces to carry is exceptional. They cater for every taste, every budget and always include some surprising, unique (always stunning) pieces. The service is warm, friendly and always attentive, without ever being intrusive or in any way pushy. They are totally upfront and honest regarding repairs on items that are potentially not going to be value for money, and always offer an alternative option. That said, they have always respected my decision. They repaired my parents' original engagement ring a few times. Now that it has been totally rebuilt, I realise that I absolutely should have done that much sooner, as was recommended. And, yes, the rebuilt ring is absolutely perfect, exactly the same but now strong, the diamond is safe and the piece is far more resilient. It will need no care beyond cleaning and checking for a very long time. This team is expert in everything jewellery, watches and gifts, and understand their industry intimately. Attentive listeners, they are always up for assisting me in finding that difficult gift: Respectful of my budget, they take their time to ascertain the recipient's tastes, and come up with a range of ideal suggestions. From my second visit, quite a long time after my first, I was remembered and warmly welcomed back. I have never once felt I was being upsold, in fact the ladies (who know all too well that I don't always treat my jewellery as carefully as I should) have wisely suggested I steer clear of certain, delicate pieces, and rightly so. As is obvious, I cannot recommend this long-standing, local family business, enough. They always greet me as a friend, and are ever-patient with my endless window-shopping. Truly the old-school customer service which is so rarely experienced these days.
Btw: I'm no big spender, I'm a pensioner who can rarely afford to splurge. But K. Smith & Son have reasonable prices, some amazing sales, and they have always treated me as warmly and attentively as they would the high-roller that might have just spent my annual income.

The best jewellery and the nicest people. We have purchased here as well as having repairs and cleaning of our own jewellery. Always 100% we will not go to anyone else.
