Sandbar Cafe Caloundra

Fantastic fish and chips from Sandbar today on what was a very busy day in Caloundra with the Beachfest weekend! Service was fast, friendly and very efficient! The quality of the fish and chips was the best we have had in a long time! (We had a double pack cod and chips for $24..very well priced we thought) The cod had a beautiful crispy batter, was very fresh and very tasty…it reminded me of the fish we used to get in England! Highly recommend! See you soon Sandbar..keep up the good work! 😊 (photo attached with mushy peas…please note as Sandbar do not sell mushy peas we take our own…very English we know! 😃)

Got a massive order from the fish and chippery, ate over at the benches watching the sunset. Food was good, prawns and fish done well. The stand out was the curry sauce and cod. Anyone from the UK gets why that is so good. It was done to a high standard.

Always good food. The vegetarian burger is particularly good. I love to pick up some take away and eat it at the tables across the road. From there, it is relaxing to watch the sun set over Caloundra, with the Glass House mountains in the background. Across the water is Bribie Island. Just a great place to relax at the end of a busy week.

Absolutely gorgeous food from Sandbar yesterday, pleasantly surprised on the food quality and would definitely recommend. We did a phone order as we knew a Saturday lunch time would be busy and our food was ready on time. Thanks for a delicious lunch Sandbar.

This place does calamari that won't disappoint, right next to the beach too. Gotta say, while the food and service are good, I found paying 2.50 for a little container of sauce to be a bit too pricey.

I was super skeptical when my friends recommended this hole in the wall for fish n chips, but it exceeded my expectations. Everything tasted fresh, calamari was tender, and portions were massive. When they say 4 x calamari, they mean 4 x massive tender calamari rings. I've eaten at nearly every fish n chips shop on the Coast, and this was one of the best!

We dined on a Thursday morning for breakfast.
We were seated immediately and the restaurant was clean and well decorated.
I had the big breakfast and my beautiful wife something equally as cool.
The food was fresh, hot and delicious.
The price was more than fair and the staff were wonderfully polite and helpful.
The coffee was fantastic.
We will be back.

A nifty take on service, very relaxed with professional table waitress. We got Lunch for three. Sandbar fish and chips (without the chips and add salad) Crispy chicken wings and pork steam buns(forgot photo of buns)
Absolutely delicious. Chicken wings were a tad salty; but the sauce counteracted that.
Good prices for delicious food, a nice veiw and relaxing atmosphere. Will be back.

Whenever we visit Caloundra we stop here for dinner. The food is always fresh and delicious and they are always busy.

Located down on the Esplanade on Bulcock beach this light and airy cafe serves up some breakfast and open early as well! Great coffee - and I asked for a large and I certainly got it: The Bowl!
Lovely customer service and nice menu for breakky and also lunch. Good value and views to boot - recommend you try it!

Best fish n chips ever. The only place to buy it in Caloundra. Make sure you drop in and tell them the Review Queen sent you.

Nice ocean views and friendly staff. The SA mussels were amazing and quite a generous serving size. The grilled fish and calamari were fresh and flavourful as well.

Ate 2 salads on different days, food was delicious. On the first day they took my napkin while I was on the phone. Was fun not to have it for the rest of my meal.
On the second day loved the carrot and ginger juice as well.

Every month we usually pop down as a family unit for a walk and some lunch here. Always been impressed with the fish, crunchy batter and always flavoursome, meaty cod. Kids portion is ample in feeding the two little ones so great for a tasty, budget feed. Fish today was even better than usual and a very short wait. We’ll be back soon!

Super crispy fish, awesome calamari and hot chips. One of the best fish and chips I ever had.

The chefs breaky and the nourish bowl were hands down one of the BEST breakfasts we've ever eaten!!! Absolutely delicious and the view of Bullcock Beach is a great accompaniment to any meal.

I can highly recommend the Shredded Duck Salad! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Generous portion, lovely flavour combination. Friendly, smiling staff and a beautiful view. What more could you ask for?

Went here with my family. We're fussy eaters but the chef and staff were full of smiles and very accommodating. The food was amazing! Really good serving sizes and not badly priced. Cant wait to go back!

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed and devoured every last little bite and sip of a meal! Thank you Sandbar for the scrumptious zucchini-haloumi fritters, rocket-pear-walnut-Parmesan salad, and super green machine smoothie! Service with a smile, prompt delivery of the meal, and exceptional value all on the beautiful Caloundra esplanade overlooking the tip of Bribie Island! Yum!
