Coral Lodge

The Lodge was nice and clean, had heaps of character. John was absolutely fantastic, couldn't do enough. This category of property encourages a lot of international guests which makes for some great conversations.

Cheap and cheerful. Hosted by John, I felt very welcome. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Plus, it was in a great location 👍 👌

I stayed 3 weeks at the Coral lodge. Location is great as it's 5 mn to all the buses, stores, bars and restaurants of the CBD, and 10 / 15 MN walk to the Strand. John and team keep the place very clean. Over the course of my stay, I had a simple room and then an en-suite.

Lovely vibe. Very clean.
Super comfy bed with firm mattress that supports your back really well (we got the double bed).
John was very nice to give us the whole unit, we basically got a private bathroom.
Moreover, it was very helpful that we could check-in late as we arrived from Cairns by greyhound and took a local bus (easy bus connection, not much walking, costs A$ 2.40 per person) and managed to arrive around 9.30 pm.
Breakfast was given right away, to store in the fridge in our unit, which was really convinience.
Wifi is also very good here.

Stayed for multiple days as part of a business trip. John, one of the owners, was lovely and accommodated my last minute changing plans. For the price you pay, this place is amazing. It's an older property but that gives it some character, and with complementary breakfast (toast, juice, ceral and milk etc.), clean rooms and bathrooms and cool rooms what more could you ask for?

Great little spot. Owner was super friendly and got us sorted with everything really quickly - including breakfast and orange juice in our fridge. Room was super clean and had everything we needed, including a small kitchen, and was spacious. Super close to lots of cafes, bars and restaurants. Great value for money too, and was able to book at short notice.

Great discount hotel, $80 for a comfortable room, air conditioning, a nice breakfast (cereal, milk, toast and orange juice), and easy access to the centre of Townsville. Beautiful grounds with gardens, and very quiet. Just be aware that there's no ensuite bathrooms; but the shared facilities are quite nice and quiet.

Our bedroom was nice, airy & clean as was the bathrooms (shared & very adequate) lovely breakfast included in the very reasonable price, + a short walk into the Main Street where it ALL happens.

One of the comfiest places I've stayed , lovely staff and close to everything, woke up to a wonderful basket of food for breakfast that kept me and my friend going till lunchtime. You really feel right at home when staying here, I'll recommend it to anyone looking for affordable and comfortable accomodation in Townsville ❤
