Thank you so much for a truly special couple of nights at The Frames.

The whole experience was just perfect. All of our communication with David was so lovely, fun and friendly, and we really, really appreciated being able to check in early!

There are no words for the accommodation… it was the perfect place for us to stay and unwind after a hectic period on the road. We loved the pool, spa, sauna, and massage bed, and we also loved just sitting on the balcony taking in the relaxing view. And the food, wine and chocolate treats were delicious!

We really enjoyed the Wildlife and Wetland tour – the scenery was great, the meal and setting were amazing, and we especially loved chatting with Tony, Rob and Rick.

And then thank you so much for allowing us late check out… which made Sunday morning very relaxed.

We spent four nights at The Frames at the suggestion of our travel agent. We are so glad we took his advice.
The Frames is much more than luxury accommodation. It is about personalized, exclusive experiences conducted by knowledgeable and passionate people. These are described on their webpage. We took the Wetland and Wildlife Safari, The Gondola Cruise, and The Flavour Safari. We also had an in-house chef prepare a three course meal for us one night, a supreme BBQ on another and the Prosperity Experience at the Temperance Restaurant at the Hotel Renmark on another.
The owners, Rick and Cathy Edmonds are just lovely people, as are their staff. Rick picked us up from Mannum (about an hour and a half drive away) and drove us to Adelaide after our stay (3 hours away). We enjoyed his company greatly.
Thank you for a great experience.

Absolutely Amazing!
We experienced 2 wonderful nights at The Frames and I have to say the accommodation, food, experiences over exceeded any expectations we had ! We arrived to the Collage Room a 2 bedroom apartment with an indoor Hot Tub and our own pool & Sauna ! The bedroom was super comfortable with a massage bed & the bathroom was huge! Our package included a afternoon cruise on the Murray with a. Lovely cheese platter and wine then we got home and our fridge was stocked with our dinner which we cooked on the BBQ provided at our own pace …. Delicious ! The absolute highlight was the Wetlands Tour we felt like VIPs topped off with a private lunch on the bank of the river ! I cannot recommend The Frames enough our hosts Cathy & Rick were super welcoming as were their team !

We spent 3 wonderful nights at The Frames and couldn’t recommended it more highly. The attention to detail is incredible, from the top-notch amenities to the fridge stocked with fresh, delicious ingredients. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable (thanks David and Rob!) and made our stay all the more memorable. 10/10 - We can’t wait to come back!

I would rate this place 6 stars if I could. You can really tell how much thought and effort went into designing the villas. We felt like absolute royalty staying here. The service was impeccable. The team at the Frames were very friendly and were able to fulfil my special requests which made our stay so memorable. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen is very well stocked. We didn't have to leave! We booked the Gondola ride which was beautiful and the cheese board included was delicious. We also got the BBQ pack which was high quality, very tasty and easy to cook. The only negative is that we had to leave! Will definitely be returning!!

This place is amazing and highly recommended for a relaxing couple of nights away. We stayed in The Montage, and instantly felt relaxed from the moment we walked in.

Everything in this retreat is top of the line and well appointed. Privacy is guaranteed, never hearing or seeing our neighbours the entire time. The grounds have excellent security with pin code gates and entrances to the retreats.

If you have ever wanted to treat yourself and see how the rich and famous live, this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

Rick was so friendly, helpful and accommodating, he even showed us through the other retreats to assist us in making a decision for our future bookings.

The only issue we had was that we had to leave and return to reality.

This place is incredible! We were firstly blown away by how incredible the views and uniqueness then the quality of each individual aspect of this property. We then decided to take part in the 3 course meals with no chef. This was a simple heat and eat option and my god not the expected “heat and eat” the steak was the best I’ve tasted, the scallops were succulent and then the dessert was so delicious I didn’t want it to end! We have spent the days going from the spa to the sauna to the bed to the spa... this is certainly the luxury escape we needed! Thanks Rick and Cathy your hospitality is incredible!

We stayed two nights at The Frames in absolute ultimate luxury, the boat cruise was fabulous and everything you could possibly need was provided.
We took our 10 month old baby and they even found a wonderful sitter for us so we could explore. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back! Stunningly beautiful place to stay.

My husband and I are very busy in our careers and have to deal with many people daily. We were looking for a holiday where we could have total privacy and relaxation. Then we found The Frames! WOW!
From the second you drive down the driveway, every little detail of The Frames has been meticulously taken care of. Designed for total privacy you can totally relax and unwind.
Highly recommend their Gondala cruise, very interesting as well as relaxing.
Cathy and Rick, thank you, we WILL be back!

I cannot speak highly enough of the Frames. The moment we walked through the villa we were in awe; the breathtaking views, the architecture, the friendliest and most accommodating hosts and the cleanliness of everything. Every little detail has been considered for the most comfortable stay. We also enjoyed a champagne gondola ride down the river on sunset with a delicious cheese platter- highly recommend! And had electric bicycles to enjoy scenic rides to the town. This is such an incredible place, an oasis in our backyard and we regret not coming sooner. We will be back Asap!! Thank you so much Cathy and Rick

The Frames…Wow!

Excellent top-notch luxury accommodation in South Australia that’s second to none.

If you haven’t heard about The Frames, then look it up now and book. It’s the ultimate relaxing and luxurious getaway for you and your partner. Whether it’s a special occasion, time out from the kids, or a chance to reconnect, the Frames is definitely for you.

We stayed in the Montage, one of three luxurious self-contained retreats with all your needs and wants accounted for. From an open fireplace, shower massage jets, and massage bed, a heated swimming pool, spa, and sauna, what more could you ask for? You can feel the love and attention to detail that’s been built into the frames from the moment you arrive.

Dining at the Frames with the pre-prepared menu is a definite winner. All the prepared food was amazing and very generous. We dined on Option 2 (menu without Chef) and upon arrival, quickly organised a last-minute Gourmet BBQ pack for the second night (there was no point in dining out, this place was too nice to leave!). The menu and instructions were very easy to follow and all the food tasted delicious.

The views from the balcony are ever-changing and entice relaxation with a glass of red or a gin.

The wetlands and wildlife safari is a must. If you haven’t booked yet then do so now. It’s a mix of champagne and serenity then full-bore throttle through narrow winding waterways. Hold onto your hat (Rick) and make the most of this memorable experience.

Booking at The Frames was seamless. Both Cathy and Rick were extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. Their passion for the Riverland was evident in everything from locally produced wine and choc orange delights (all produce from their own farms) to their knowledge and love of the Murray River.

Thank you, Cathy and Rick, for making our stay one to remember. Your attention to detail, friendliness, accommodating nature and all the little finishing touches made our 20th wedding anniversary a memorable one.

We will see you again…

My husband treated me to a 2 night stay at The Frames as an early anniversary present. I had not been to the Riverland before and I certainly did not expect all the wonderful beauty I observed during our stay. We were so thrilled with the Patische Retreat in which we stayed. My husband had shown me the pictures on The Frames website and although amazing, seeing and experiencing it for ourselves was even more amazing! We loved the treats that were left for us. Local handmade chocolates, preserves and jams and even preserved peaches made by the owner Cathy for muesli that is also made from local ingredients for our breakky!

Being someone who loves cooking, I adored the modern kitchen and all the appliances. The owners have thought of everything. We opted to cook our provided breakfast which included the most delicious local smoky bacon, free range eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach on the BBQ in the outdoor area. We then sat enjoying our breakfast and looked out to the action on the water. Whilst we stayed there were plenty of boats and water skiers on the river and I really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony watching it all.

We made full use of the indoor hydrotherapy spa and the pool. The pool was a welcome sight after we spent one morning walking briskly into the town of Renmark (about a 11km round trip). This walk was certainly worth doing as you get to take in the Murray River, creeks along the way and also the history and sights of Renmark which is shared on boards along the walk. We loved our walk but there is also the option of electric bikes that they have available.

The best thing of all was that we opted to take the Sunset Cruise on their Wooden Gondola and the Backwater Secrets tour of the creeks nearby to The Frames. The Sunset Cruise started in the early evening and we were treated to a delightful platter, once again showcasing local produce and homemade sausage rolls! The cruise took us along to Renmark which is right on the river and also a wonderful journey through a marina. What a place to live! As the sun went down and the lights of the township went on, the reflections in the water were beautiful. Certainly an experience I won't easily forget. The Gondola itself was very comfortable and the pace at which we travelled was gentle and relaxing. Well worth doing.

The following morning Rick owner and Cathy's husband took us out on their custom made dinghy which again was extremely comfortable. Cruising the Murray River and then the creeks was simply stunning. We were so lucky as we got to see a koala, heaps of birds, an emu and kangaroos. There was a spectacular birds nest that we were shown which was about 3 metres deep right in the top of a large gumtree. The Riverland ares is a bird watchers paradise! It was a magic experience and something I will treasure.

Thank you to Cathy and Rick who shared the love and knowledge of their region. They are both fabulous hosts and tour guides. We are telling all our family and friends about our stay and encouraging them to go and enjoy all that The Frames has to offer.

This place is actually heaven. The smallest need is catered to before you even realise it is a need. From the fully stocked kitchen to the heated bathroom tiles. I wish I could rate this place more. The shower is second to none. Extra jets apart from the rain shower?? We never want to leave. The view from the balcony! Everything about it is just amazing.

When we get a chance to get away from our businesses, my partner and I like to be able to totally chill out and relax in accommodation that offers the best of everything. The Frames offers this in spades - our stay was sensational and offered everything we wanted.
There are three "pavilions" each totally private from the other. We stayed in Montage, the central one, and felt we were a world away from everyone and everything. My favourite features (of which there were too many to describe here!) included the pool, infra red sauna and hydro therapy spa - all located on the terrace of Montage and exclusively for our use only - definitely up there on my list of true luxury criteria.

No expense was spared in the bathroom (or anywhere for that matter)
which was huge and offered the best shower I have ever had with double shower heads and spa jets, L'Occitane amenities and thick, soft heated towels. The king bedroom was luxuriously appointed with carpet, white linens and doors to an outdoor bath area and the infra red sauna. Did I mentioned the bed where each side independently can be electrically operated so you can watch your favourite TV show in just the right position?!

The kitchen had every possible appliance and utensil you could ever need - in particular a Nespresso coffee machine and an array of Global knives and was well stocked with great local produce and the most amazing South Australian made gourmet butters!

The Frames are located on a cliff top overlooking the Murray River and the views from the front deck are enough to keep you there all day (especially on the comfy lounges), with a wine or cold drink in hand when you're not in the pool or sauna... It was so relaxing watching houseboats cruise by and people enjoying themselves on the river from our indulgent cliff top coccoon!

We spent a day having a private hosted boat tour of the river and the many smaller creeks around it. The experience was stunning. The bird life, including an ibis rookery, an incredible huge eagles nest, black swans with goslings, as well as kangaroos and emus in their natural environment makes this a must do for any visitor. I think international visitors would be beside themselves with joy with the experience - as good as Kakadu without the crocodiles!

We were really impressed with the fact guests can be picked up in The Frame's private vehicle from Adelaide Airport (only a 3 hour drive) or Mildura Airport (90 minutes), making the location so accessible. We live in the Barossa, so it was an easy 2 hour drive for us.

The only thing I didn't like about our stay was it needed to be longer and next time it will be. Five to seven days spent at The Frames would make this the ultimate "relax and chill" experience.

Beautifully intimate and exclusive retreats with unobstructed views of the Murray. The Frames are a great option for escaping for all important 'us' time with your partner. We love how The Frames is close to Renmark, easy to explore the wineries, distilleries, breweries and coffee house of the region. We also love how they are fully self contained and everything you could ever need is inside your villa!

Amazing place. Stayed here twice and returning again. Rick and Cathy has truly made an effort in making sure that your stay is relaxing and everything is provided for a delicious breakfast. Spa, pool and views are great. A home away from home.

Well, what can you say when there is nothing left wanting? I was lucky enough to have found The Frames let alone stay there on our honey moon. My wife and I were married nearby at Wilkadene - Woolshed Brewery and that's a whole other review... Then for 5 days we stayed at The Frames. We enjoyed the spa, the pool the sauna and even our own personal chef. I can highly recommend a sunset Gondola ride topped off with wine a cheeses (and my wife too). I've never had a more romantic and relaxing get away - not to mention sunsets on the deck over looking the River Murray. This truly is a place where you can loose yourself and depart from the real world for a while.

I'm surprised, I don't usually let myself relax, always 'go go go' but I did completely relax and let myself melt into the luxury of The Frames. I loved a morning swim and spa and making a gourmet breakfast with the local goods supplied. The bathrooms were amazing and it was such a large villa that I did feel wrapped in luxury.

The Frames is a genius creation of luxurious accommodations. Rick and Cathy have built something truly spectacular. My husband and I traveled from the US and stayed throughout Australia for 3 weeks, ending our trip with a 3 night stay at the "Montage" lodge in The Frames. It was, by far, the nicest place we visited. It included a private, heated pool, hot tub, infrared sauna, and a fully stocked house and kitchen, all for an unbeatable price. The best part, however, was the view from the balcony that overlooked the Murray River. You feel like you are looking through a picture frame with the most picturesque view of the Riverlands. A big reason for our trip was bird watching. Right from our balcony we were able to comfortably observe many beautiful species of wildlife, and watch stunning sunsets all while enjoying great wine and the WORLD'S BEST TANGELO JUICE!! Seriously, the juice is fresh pressed everyday from Rick and Cathy's amazing organic farm, and I've never tasted anything better in my life. Beyond the actual accommodation, Ricky and Cathy were so kind and down to earth. As lifelong locals, they were able to share the great history and ecology of the region and take us on tours of the river and surrounding area with delicious prepared lunches. Their staff were phenomenal and on top of any need or want. If I had to choose between the nicest place in Napa Valley or The Frames in Australia's fruit and wine region, I will always choose Rick and Cathy's fabulous place. It has a small town vibe, it's quiet and calm. The absolute perfect retreat.
