Strand Park

Quite clearly one of the best parks available. Unfortunately not close to home, since it's about 5000km of travel, so taking the dogs might be an issue for me. Beautiful views, with same and water and islands all in frame.

Will return as soon as possible.

Despite lots of debris from the recent cyclone, it is still a great place for a walk. The red tailed black cockatoos were out in force.

Beautiful area. We were fortunate enough to see some black cockatoos here.

Lovely walk along the pathway with artistic attractions, beautiful views, sandy beach with a Life Guard on duty, fishing off the jetty, coffee on the go or gelato 😋
A must do if you are coming to Townsville or just passing to have a break, refresh and relax

Feels soo relaxed being their, very calm and nice place. Lots of cafe, restraunts, hotels near by.

Great place for the kids' play and enjoy the fresh air.

Beautiful place to visit and take a walk

Had a lovely stroll along The Strand. Such a beautiful family friendly, dog friendly atmosphere. Lots of lovely shady trees, walking/cycle paths, cafes etc.

Absolutely glorious winters day in Qld 30 degrees. Park is huge with plenty of shady trees, seating areas, protected swimming area (from the cross & stingers) & stunning views of the water.

Beautiful park. Night markets are on the first Friday of the month and well worth a visit. Lots of great stalls including heaps of food vans. The playground and basket ball area gets lots of use. Just a really family friendly place to visit

Great place to take a stroll. Many eateries to choose from along the strand as well as fun activities for kids and adults alike.

Wonderful place to spend the day exploring the beach getting up close to wild black cockatoos and viewing the siren who changes colours with the water temperature

Day and night, it's bustling with just the right amount of crowd to give it that feeling of leisure and pleasure. We chill by the beach, stroll along the long stretched footpath, eat icecream, laze under shady palm trees, splash at the water park, scooter, roll out a picnic rug and sleep, paint, read. So much to do. Always super super relaxing.

It's such a beautiful scenery. It's about a 2.2km walk if you choose with a waterpark at one end and a rockpool at the other. There are lots of play areas for the kids and restaurants and pubs in between. All activities on the strand are free.

Lovely walk with plenty of amazing things do. From breakfast right through to dinner. Plenty of photo opportunities and things for the kids to do. Spot of fishing.

A very pleasant area to stroll. Plenty of seats along the route. Path is level so good for wheelchair or baby buggy/pram users. Roadside parking is quite good but might be difficult in busy times. Several play park areas for children.
Some restaurants on the sea shore side. More restaurants on the inland side further up.

I love the strand. I walked my dogs there every morning. So relaxing it is a beautiful place.

Great for swimming, walking, running, skateboarding, picnic with family, playground, spray and play area for kids.

Always good for a stroll or a sit. My dog and I love early mornings, my partner and I love the evenings.
