The Salopian Inn

What a great find. The Inn is just out of Maclarenvale and hidden behind trees but is very busy even on weekdays. We didn’t book but I would recommend you do. There is inside and outside seating. We sat outside where there were only two tables so it was very quiet and restful surrounded by greenery. Our meals were both delicious. My husband had the Salopian Pie and I had the lamb neck. I don’t recall eating anything quite as delicious. We ordered a side of hand cut fries. They were crispy and flavourful. I would highly recommend you give this restaurant a try. The staff were so friendly and attentive and happy !

The customer service was top notch and the food was delicious. Quality and fresh food. Went here for lunch and one of the appetizers came after the main course. We were not charged for the appetizer.
The staff always had a smile on their faces and always ready to help. Great experience!

We have been here twice and loved it. The dumplings never disappoints and their menu is seasonal so it keeps changing.

What a beautiful meal at the Salopian. The atmosphere is relaxed welcoming. The service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the $90 feed me menu and each bite was more delicious than the last. The wine cellar has an amazing selection to explore and select any special red you’d like. It’s an McLaren Vale gem and institution for a reason.

The food was amazing. They were very happy to cater for vegans. Big serves and big flavours. The staff are so friendly as well. Really recommend going there. We had the feed me option…. Had a great day, will definitely be back.

I have eaten some fine food all around the world I am glad to say, however our dinning experience at the Salopian was the absolute best. The service was so friendly, professional and welcoming. The best steak ever, deserts absolutely fabulous. Our waitress was friendly knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. Location of course is second to none!!!

Excellent service and food. Well presented dishes and great quality of food. Ambience was extremely nice. Alia was our table host so pleasant and gave us an excellent customer service experience . If you haven’t eaten at The Salopian yet, where have you been!? One of the best. The feed me option will leave you extremely satisfied, just make sure you have a light lunch before you go!

Amazing vegan feed me! Was there with a group of 10 and there were a few different dietaries but wouldn’t have noticed because of how seamlessly they cater for everyone. I did buy their chilli oil (as did pretty much everyone at the table) so we can recreate the dumplings 🌶 🥟 highly recommend this place for everyone and anyone who want great food with a great no pretentious atmosphere and great service!

My husband and I had the feed me option not only was the food amazing, we felt very special and looked after. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Bec cutting looked after us and added to our experience. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back again xxx

This is a top notch restaurant. The food is imaginative but not overdone or precious. Ambience is comfortable and quiet thanks to light filled small dining areas distributed throughout an old large converted house set amongst the vines. The house also has a wine cellar underneath where you go to select your bottle of red wine (they are not listed on the wine list). The staff were excellent, we were never left looking for a staff member, and they were fun and a very pleasant bunch (and that's not the wine talking as I was driving).
This is a special restaurant for a special occasion.

Celebrated by 40th birthday here. The feed me menu was on point. Delicious food and plenty of it. Really value for money and such a great selection. Even got to enjoy the dumplings and sashimi as part of it. The gin cocktails were sensational, highly recommend the KI Mulberry cocktail. Again a great variety of gins and cocktails on menu. Whilst the wine selection is excesivly over priced for what they had in the cellar it didn't detract from the night and simply meant we indulged in second and third cocktails.

Highly recommend the feed me menu. Thanks to the server who was bubbly, informative and super friendly. Also, appreciated the special touch for my birthday.

Everything was fabulous 👌 it's an easy 12/10 or more.

We visited The Salopian Inn on a Friday for lunch. Myself and 5 mates opted for the $90pp feed me menu. What can I say but everything was outstanding. The food was diverse and delicious. The service was prompt and welcoming. Couldn't rate it highly enough. We even got to pick our own wine from the cellar. Must visit!

We had the steak and ribs for lunch, which was beautiful! One of the best steak dish we have ever had! The service and ambience was warm and friendly! To know all their produce was grown locally in their garden makes it extra special, thanks team for the amazing food! Well done

Great location ,amazing ambience, delicous food and the friendly service tops an already wonderful experience.

So good, food was all delicious, service was attentive and fast and the actual place is stunning. Stand out for me was the gnocchi, it was light and fluffy and well balanced with the sauce. The pork buns were also amazing, particularly the chilli sauce that went with it. Worth a visit if you are after a nice lunch.

Hi went there today and had a lovely time. Got lucky sat on the front veranda and they were able to find me space without a booking. Staff are chatty, happy and great service. Food was unique and yummy. Lots of fun and great vibe. Great drinks to choose from. I found gluten free options too

What a magic place for a food experience. Lovely, friendly folk. Sensational food. Generous serves. Very special local wines. Affordable. So much thought and care in every tasty morsel. We are coming back.

This was one of the best meals we had by far AND fantastic service. We enjoyed a few apples and shared them between our party. One of our folks is allergic to shellfish and they made some wonderful recommendations to avoid this. Food was absolutely delicious. This is a must try while in the area!
