Simply put, Amanda saved our dog's life. We wouldn't still have him without her and we will be forever grateful for her incredible intuition and both diagnostic and surgical skills. Thank you for your outstanding commitment to your patients and their families - we are completely blown away.

I had never been to WindanSea before but when I turned up to their door with a sick kitten they took him in straight away.

All the staff were friendly and patient.
A special thank you to Amanda and Leah who went above and beyond. Not only did they take care of my kitten (Sushi) but also worked with my budget and busy work schedule.

This is the only vet I will ever go to after my wonderful experience.

I have no words to explain how amazing I consider Amanda and the girls..
I thought my furbaby had no chance or was going to be paralysed for life. Within days the difference is astounding and she's almost reversed the damaged, not out of the woods yet with a long road ahead, but I cannot recommend them enough for the treatment and caring nature's.. price is also highly reasonable as well.

I cannot praise Amanda and her staff highly enough. Having recently moved to the area, Amanda was highly recommended to me by our dog groomer, Rochelle.

Jessie, our 16 week Miniature Labradoodle puppy had been suffering with a runny tummy since we brought her home and despite many visits to our vet in Newcastle, she wasn't gaining weight & her condition was not improving.

We took Jessie to see Amanda for her vaccination and upon hearing Jessie's history, she was immediately taken to the hospital area and a sample taken. Amanda was able to immediately diagnose Jessie with Campylobacter and as she expected, further laboratory testing also revealed Giardia. Amanda was certain that Jessie had come from the breeder with these infections.

It was such a relief that after 9 weeks of worry about our little girl and constant vet visits, Amanda had the skill and the knowledge to diagnose our sick puppy and get her back on the road to good health.

Jessie is now 6 months old and is no longer a 'bag of bones' but a happy and healthy little girl, thanks to Amanda.

John and are so grateful to Amanda and would highly recommend her as a very knowledgeable, skilled and caring Veterinarian who will give your pet the best care possible.

Dear Amanda and staff,
Thank you so much for your expert care of all our animals. I'd like to share the following eulogy in memory of our old girl .

Susan ‘Suzie’ Bowman (July 21st 2002 – October 9th 2019) aged 17

It is with great sadness we record the peaceful passing of Suzie.
Suzie was the proud Staffordshire/Boxer daughter of Spud and Xena of Half Chain Road, Rainbow Flat, being born on July 21st 2002. She carefully selected her adopted family soon after that.
Suzie was a spirited youngster of strong mind and will, who on occasion needed discipline to maintain her pack position. Early on she showed keenness for a career in hospitality and took to her role as ‘front of house’ manager with a natural zeal. Visitors often remarked, after some initial trepidation, of how welcoming and helpful she was, especially noting her unique shoe valet parking system.
Suzie moved quickly through the ranks to head of security, maintaining exceptionally high standards of monitoring and alertness, often on 24-hour call, until her medical retirement due to hearing loss in 2017. But it was her life calling to be appointed equerry to Princess Judy and it was this role that defined her. Many a well-mannered tradesperson would be required to pass a rigorous security check before being allowed access to the household.
Suzie was a talented athlete, excelling at high jump, long distance running, 50m dash, swimming (not bathwater) and of course walking. She quite enjoyed a game of Frisbee, but these tended to be short lived as the aerodynamic properties of the Frisbee degraded quickly with teeth impact.
Suzie also enjoyed travelling, especially camping and visiting family, in preference to the more luxurious pet lifestyle resorts.
She liked nothing better that to join friends and family at the dining room table. Her manners were exemplary and favourite foods included salmon and pea risotto, roast chicken, cake for dessert.
Suzie will be sadly missed by the Royal Family, HRH Judy, Joel, Andy and Glen, her close friends Hunter the Golden Retriever, Toby the Jack Russell, Bella the Beagle and those who have had a shoe magically repositioned when calling. She will be only somewhat missed be Esther and Chelsea the family cats.
Suzie’s wonderful life could not have been possible without the professional care, love and support of Amanda Wood and her amazing staff at Forster’s WindanSea Vets. Thank you all for her care over the years, no more so that his week when she and we needed it the most. Your kindness and sensitivity at this time was most appreciated.
There is no greater accolade to an Australian pet than, Suzie was a bloody good dog.
And she would know
For it was she
Who said that I
I looked happy
In the photos
Where I would pose
With the pets
That I once had
But they’re all gone now
To earthen bed
(exert from Ghost of My Old Dog, Jason Lytle)
“In your basket Sue!”
With love Judy, Glen, Joel and Andy x

Amanda is without a doubt the most amazing Vet I have ever known in all of my decades of owning dogs !! She recently literally saved my beloved dog Teddy's life and went above and beyond to do this for me as she knew how much I loved him and how important he is to me. Her endless skills as a Vet are secondary only to her own genuine love of animals and her compassion and empathy. Her team of girls are also super special, efficient ,loving and caring. All in all they are without the ANIMAL DREAM TEAM . With so much gratitude always, Sharon and Teddy

Amanda has been my vet for 6 years she is caring and compassionate to all her animal clients she just loves them all.
She is an amazing vet and always has the answer to to whatever is needed to make them better. I have 2 Bichons and I would never go to another vet as I do not believe there is better vet in the area. When i take one of my dogs to Amanda I have always had the answer to their problem solved or what needs to be done when I walk out the door she is also a pretty nice person.
Her vet hospital is of such a high standard, Her staff are always gentle and caring people if I could I would personally give Amanda 10 stars. Well done Windansea

I met Amanda 3 years ago!
Our dog was very sick, when we were told what was wrong with Gemma, Amanda put it how it was, but we prefer that than for to be lead on!
We since have another dog on recommendation from Amanda, we thank her for Nardia.
Amanda is the most thorough Vet I've come across in many years, she's very knowledgeable and honest .
I respect Amanda's opinion, she always gets back to you if you have worries about your pet.
I highly recommend WindanSea Vets.
I class Amanda as a friend not just the Vet.

Amanda in my opinion is the best vet I know. I first took my Staffy "Lucy" to her, then recommended Amanda to my daughter who took both her dogs to see her, "Alfie" and "Penny." Alfie required extensive surgery whilst Penny only required a correct diagnosis which we believed she received at long last and after a number of vets.
Alfie has sprung back to life and after being introduced to a new diet has lost weight and is acting younger.
Amanda has a deep compassion not only for the animals she treats but for their humans as well. This is why we travel from Sydney to Forster with our animals to see Amanda. She is second to none as is the staff she employs. Thanks so much Amanda and staff, we feel safe leaving our animals in your capable hands.

Dr Amanda Wood is the most amazing Vet. Her standard of care is truly exceptional and the members of her team are really wonderful.
Our 14yr old Poodle needed surgery.
Talking to Amanda prior to surgery made it very clear to us that her work ethic, dedication, incredible knowledge, skill and meticulous approach to surgery and anaesthesia, especially for older animals is OUTSTANDING which assured us our beloved “Jasper” was in great hands with the VERY BEST of care.
Jasper has a new lease on life now. He is far more lively than before, acting like a puppy again. He is so happy and so are we. After finding Amanda and team we would not go to any other Vet.
Special thanks also to Di the Vet Nurse who assisted Amanda and was invaluable during surgery.
Our town is so lucky to have such an incredibly high standard of Veterinary Care available at Windan’Sea.
A standard of care, which is definitely second to none.

Amanda and her staff are exceptional, in the care of all things great and small. The high level of care and love for animals is expressed each time one of my fur family is treated. Amanda calls it as she sees it and always goes above and beyond to achieve the best outcome for your pet

It's hard to put into words how amazing Windansea have been. How do you put into words your pets life? My tiny, sensitive, little guy was sick one day when we got home from a holiday and picked him up from the sitters. We rushed him to Amanda and straight away she saw how sick he was. She assured us that she will do her absolute best. She did no less. My tiny, sensitive little guy is still with us today because of her expertise and loving care. He has never liked vets, or anyone that isn't his mum and dad but after four days with Amanda taking blood, putting in catheters and cutting his nails below the quick (thankyou) he still went to her when she wanted to pat him. He knew she loved and cared for him and that's what he needed. She was positive, steadfast, and loving and she cared more than any vet I've ever seen. She has so much expertise that it's crazy but the care she has way out shines this.

THE best best vetinary practice I have ever had dealings with. Caring, professional and friendly staff and Amanda is truly an exceptional vet. She was very informative and was wonderful in treating my beloved pooch... even befriended my other (non patient pooch). You will feel like part of the family as soon as you visit for the first time. :-)

I have been going to Mandy for 10 years after trying all other vets in town. As a vet she is the best I have ever come across, she is incredibly caring, very smart and will not only use western medicine but also looks at natural remedies if it warrants.
The staff are amazing, understanding and caring.
While ever I have a pet Amanda will be the only vet I go to.

Amanda was recommended to me & I was told she was a brilliant vet who incorporates alternative therapies into her practices. To say I am blown away by her knowledge, care, straight to the point and passionate approach is an understatement. From the moment Morri and I entered, I felt like FINALLY we were in the rite place to get his issues sorted out. Amanda & the whole team are so genuine. I felt an instant connection and never questioned their motives or intentions as they are 100% for the animal (which unfortunately is not the case at some of the other vets I have visited in the area). Amanda went above and beyond to get to the bottom of Morri's problems & then gave me a whole range of options to help him. Could not recommend the team at WindanSea enough!!

Amanda and her team are amazing. We have a 6 year old Labrador Retriever who has for many years suffered from continual itching and ,periodically, sore ears and tummy rash. We had taken him to several vets in Sydney and Forster over the years to no avail. A friend in Forster recommended Amanda whose approach is to restore animals to top condition so they can combat allergies naturally themselves. This involved a whole new approach to medications, dog shampoo, grooming and food type. After a month we saw a vast improvement in his overall health . Now over 4 months he is in tip top shape with no itching etc.and is not on any medication. Amanda's professional advice is invaluable. For example, did you know you could be over- vaccinating your dog with C3 ...see her website and she will explain this to you and how that could contribute in part to itching etc.

Amanda and the team at Windan’Sea are nothing short of phenomenal. The care and respect they have all shown my beloved animals is second to none. Every time I visit they all go above and beyond to solve any problems I am having. Amanda’s knowledge is incredible- she’s an encyclopaedia of animal health information with the years of experience to back it up. I wouldnt trust my babies in anyone’s hands but these guys.
