a super interesting museum with lots of history about engineering and steam! The men / brothers that run it are very knowledgeable and friendly! They love a good yarn. There is also a blacksmith on site that makes new parts to help restore the locomotives. And included in admission is a mini train ride!

Such an amazing museum with great local history. The fact that a lot of the steam engines are in working order is incredible.

A wonderful Steam festival at Pearns Steam world. A fascinating range of Steam and diesel engines all chugging and wheezing. Lots to see and do and it's just fabulous that you can get up close to all of the working engines. Very affordable entry and a wonderful day.

Stopped by on our way through town on a quiet weekday. Had an absolutely fantastic time viewing the old machinery. Even my girlfriend enjoyed the experience! The volunteers were the highlight of the visit. They're engaging, interested and extremely proud of their collection. I strongly recommend checking out this quirky little museum on any trip to Tasmania

Stopped here on a whim and just by chance we managed to turn up on a Sunday when the steam train rides were running.
Interesting display of old steam engines and machinery as well as some early household items - really makes you realise how far technology has come.
The little steam train was definitely a hit, with the conductor explaining how the train works while we watched as he loaded the fire for the boiler.

Wonderful collection of history, a range of various steam-powered vehicles. Volunteer was very polite and made us welcome. Great biographies of the Pearns family, enjoyed the videos from them. Definitely worth the visit and stop. There’s a cafe very close by to pick up a cuppa on your travels and enjoy while waking around. The stop in Westbury is worthwhile.

Steam world was amazing. I don't know anything about trains but the vintage steam engines and tractors were incredible and beautifully restored. My three year old son loved it, and even got to ride on a miniature train! The people running the place are in it for the love and not the money, which makes it extra special. Highly recommend stopping by.

Great collection of agricultural stream engines, very well presented with lots of information panels and videos. I learnt a lot in a short visit. Happy to support them to keep maintaining this collection!
